Loved our stay! Especially Charles who helped us decorate our room free of charge with balloons for our birthday gals night away! Also received TWO birthday sets which included drinks (which they politely swapped to non-alcoholic for us) and plenty of chocolate treats. Love the aesthetic too! Olive greens mahogany solid brown timber - obsessed!

I was very disappointed with my stay at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. In my opinion, this hotel is nowhere near the standard expected of a luxury Sofitel property. The rooms felt old, dark, and very cold, lacking the warmth and comfort you would expect from a five-star hotel. The service was also disappointing. As an Accor Platinum member, we were not provided with our welcome benefit of two glasses of champagne, which made us feel that our loyalty was not valued. In comparison, our experience at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour was outstanding. We received excellent service, complimentary champagne as a welcome drink, and the breakfast was exceptional. The difference between the two hotels was remarkable. Unfortunately, I would not stay at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth again. Based on my experience, it felt more like a 3.5-star hotel than a luxury five-star property. I hope management invests in renovating the rooms and improving the level of service to match the Sofitel brand. I really want to get my money back. Victoria and Karen

Really, really, really poor. When we checked in, it appeared they tried to downgrade our room by giving us two twin beds, rather than one king that we had booked and was confirmed in the confirmation email and in the app. We enquired and they insisted that we booked a twin room, I pulled up the email and they offered the original king room. This did take about 70 minutes. The room was small and dark. The bathroom taps didn’t stay on (physically fell off) and there was constant interruptions with the hot water No upgrade with Accor platinum and had to follow up for the welcome gift in the room. The breakfast was really quite good and location is great for walking to both Pitt Street Mall as well as circular quay. Across the board, the service was lacking immensely. We just spent the week at Sofitel Darling Harbour and everyone was exceptional - the rooms were large, the service was brilliant and the club was great. We thought we would stay here for my partner’s birthday but was profoundly disappointed. We would never come back to this hotel and would actively recommend others booking somewhere else, especially in consideration of the room rate per night.

My stay was nothing short of extraordinary — and I'm genuinely impressed. I truly felt the value of my Platinum membership in ways other properties in the chain simply haven't delivered. Exceptional food — every bite was memorable. Impeccable room — spotless, thoughtful, and inviting. The staff? Absolutely top-tier — from the club lounge team to Alexanda, who personally assisted me at checkout with genuine care. This is what hospitality should feel like💜

In a city overflowing with luxury hotels, surviving, let alone thriving, takes more than marble lobbies & fancy chandeliers. It requires great design, the right location &, above all, the right people. As an Accor Platinum member on my first visit, I headed straight to Club Millésime for check-in. Disha welcomed us warmly while Guest Experience Mgr Emma also made an appearance & introduced herself. We were delighted with a room upgrade, thoughtful welcome amenities & a spacious, beautiful room. First impressions were purely magical. Breakfast at Delta Rue was another highlight. The buffet offered an excellent mix of Western favourites & Asian comfort food. Special mention goes to the wonderful young waitress who not only remembered us on our second morning, but also recalled exactly how we liked our coffee & our varied egg orders. Friendly service is lovely. Remembering your guests? That’s true hospitality. Although the hotel doesn’t have a pool, it more than compensates with SOHO-a superb 24/7 gym, massage chairs & Recovery, featuring infrared & dry saunas, cold plunges & Arctic ice baths. After one massage chair session, I briefly considered extending my stay for “health reasons.” Club Millésime itself is elegant & beautifully designed, but during busy weekends the lounge seems to operate on optimism mode. On Sat morning we found ourselves waiting several minutes without acknowledgement before I approached & politely asked whether someone could take our order, only to be told our table wasn’t in her section. I was momentarily tempted to apologise for accidentally sitting outside her sovereign territory. The egg white omelette was enjoyable enough. The waffle, however, looked beautiful but arrived so dry that I genuinely wondered whether it had enjoyed a previous life inside supermarket packaging. For a French-inspired Sofitel, I was hoping for “ooh la la”, not “oh… that’s bad.” Sat evening’s canapé service was equally stretched. Staff worked incredibly hard & food was replenished quickly, but there simply weren’t enough of them. 40min after we sat down, I’d finished my first drink while my partner was still waiting for his first! Raising the drinks menu eventually became an endurance sport, followed by waving it in the air like I was guiding aircraft onto a runway. One final hiccup involved turndown service. The nightly praline beside the tea station mysteriously disappeared on our second evening. After two calls to housekeeping & more than an hour’s wait, it finally arrived. I never imagined I’d have to launch a missing-person investigation for a single chocolate. Despite these frustrations, I genuinely enjoyed our stay. The location, facilities & many of the staff are excellent. The issue isn’t the people, it’s that there simply don’t seem to be enough of them during peak periods. Luxury isn’t measured by chandeliers or marble. It’s measured by effortless service & anticipating a guest’s needs. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth already has the ingredients to be exceptional. It simply needs enough people to bring that recipe to life.
