Reviews for Hyatt Regency Sydney

One of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I booked Hyatt Regency Sydney expecting a true 5-star stay, but what I received was worse than a basic 3-star hotel. Firstly, their 3 PM check-in time is unreasonable, especially for families travelling with a baby. We requested early check-in at the time of booking, but the hotel did not accommodate our request. We finally entered the room only to find it shockingly small. The crib was peeling from the sides and looked old and dirty, which is unacceptable for any hotel. There was hardly any space to move, and we struggled to fit our stroller and luggage. When we asked for a different room, the staff refused to help or offer any alternative. To make things worse, the room had KitKat and chips placed openly, and like many quality hotels, we assumed these were complimentary. Instead, we were charged for them without any clear warning, which felt extremely disappointing and unprofessional for a hotel claiming to be 5-star. Even the water in the minibar is charged - nothing is complimentary. Overall, the hotel is overpriced, cramped, unfriendly, and nowhere near 5-star standards. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save your hard earned money and stay somewhere that actually values and respects its guests.

for the same price i probably would try another hotel next time, its not bad, but not good enough for a 5 star hotel. single beds are very small. there's no sound proofing at all or at least in my room there's none, the pipe buzzing really loud when my next door neighbor is taking shower, and you can hear everyone passing by your front door. room service sometime may forget to refill your fridge, but when calling guest service, they are responsive for parking, weekdays are $80 per day, weekends are $55, but if you are checking in on Sunday like us, they will charge you $80 since Sunday check-in is considered as weekday rate. overall location is good though.

We absolutely loved the customer service, the location, the beds, the club lounge and the staff. Everyone was so helpful and attentive. Our view was terrific, and we could watch the fireworks in our PJs!! The rooms have sleek, modern lines. However, I don’t know about other rooms — our was a King, Harbor view, club room — but ours had zero drawers for clothes! There is a small armoire with hanging space and a drawer underneath the hanging area that was taken up mostly by the safe. No shelves for clothes. No luggage rack or bench to lay even a carry-on. Nothing. We had to keep our clothes on the floor on top of a suitcase. When I mentioned this in a survey on our 3rd day, 2 luggage racks and a plastic set of drawers appeared in our room when we got back that evening. If all the rooms are designed with no clothes storage, then the rooms were designed by a man! No woman would have done this! Take out the ironing board and put in shelves, at least.

Was definitely a solid place to stay, and good location for CBD. However, should not be considered a 5 star hotel based on comparison to other hotels. Service has a lot of room for improvement, and the walls in the rooms are paper thin. Walking in the hallway, we heard the showers on in other rooms and could hear the music from the rooftop bar from 2 stories down (we were on level 10 and the bar level 12). No pool, not even complimentary water and the bathrobes are made from the same material as towels. Overall, no major issues, its just not a hotel you would ever pay that much money for.

I am basing my review on the service at the hotel. I came here after a very unfortunate situation at the Park Hyatt that caused me to cancel my stay there. I was upset but I have to say that staying here made up for it. The staff at this property couldn't be nicer. My room has a beautiful view of the harbor. I was able to turn out the lights in my room and get a front row seat for the Drone Light Show on Saturday night. The Club Lounge staff is fabulous. The view there is also nice and the Happy Hour and Breakfast services are great. I usually avoid larger properties when traveling on personal trips but I am not disappointed with my stay here at all. The location is central and I was able to walk to so many great spots. I averaged 15k steps a day and that makes me a happy girl. Thanks for the hospitality!
