Reviews for William Inglis Hotel

Checked in on a Wednesday and got the room under the pool pump, which you can hear, but I was too tired to say anything late at night. The next morning, I asked if we could move, and the general manager was more than happy to accommodate the move. She sent the Assistant Manager up, who told us to back up, and she'd be back with a cart and keys to our new room. We got done packing rather fast and waited for over 30 minutes, but she was too busy as a large group was checking out. The assistant manager returned after my wife went down, and we received our keys, cart, and a bottle of wine as an apology, which we graciously accepted and appreciated. We took items out of the mini cooler and placed them off to the side as my wife wanted to drink her water and enjoy her fruit cold. I noticed it wasn't working and notified the front desk. They sent an email to maintenance. Thursday evening, after our return, the cooler wasn't fixed nor changed, and we had to throw away our leftovers. I went down to the front desk and asked for a bucket of ice from the assistant night manager who accommodated my request, and again, I requested it to be fixed or changed out. Friday morning, I went to the front desk and asked the assistance manager who brought me the keys when we changed the room, and she told me it would be fixed. Friday night, I informed the same night manager that the issue wasn't fixed, and he assured me that he had indeed sent an email to them. Saturday morning, I again said something to the front desk. Saturday night, I had to get my bucket of ice again and informed the Assistant night manager that I would be leaving this review and he agreed with me how unacceptable it was the maintenance NEVER fixed the issue! Bytheway, for a 5 Star hotel with no bell boy, something isn't right. If you look in the shower, you will see mold in the bottom corners, which also needs to be cleaned. (See photos.) How they can claim this is a 5 star hotel is beyond me. No bell boy, no maintenance, mold in showers? The only thing that's 5 Stars is the FREE PARKING!

The room was very nice, laid out and comfortable. I wandered around early in the evening to see what was there, including the restaurant. I was asked if I wanted to dine that evening; it would be wise to make a reservation. I am glad the restaurant manager suggested this, as the restaurant was bustling, which surprised me somewhat. When I had the meal, I understood why. Breakfast in the morning was very good (could use some extra signage for gluten-free items, etc).

Definitely a 5star hotel but a downscale level due to the location. Stayed for 3 nights. Staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was good but nothing extravagant. Hotel bar served up to as late as 1am. Gym was decent size. Rooftop pool heated with a good view of the surrounding suburbs. Room service was prompt and delicious. Definitely would stay again if I was to book around this area of Sydney.

Very nice hotel with good food and coffee. If you like a cool dark room though, you're out of luck. The a/c panel has a power light that illuminates the entire room with a green swathe of light that's brighter than the sun. You can power it off, but then the room heats up hotter than the sun. Could do with a design rethink

The Red Hot Room rate prompted our last minute weekend break at one of our favourite hotels. On arrival we paid for an upgrade to a suite and had a very pleasant stay to celebrate both my birthday and fathers day. Breakfast was wonderful, and the complimentary minibar softdrinks and welcome bottle of red were very much appreciated. My only disappointment was being unable to use our A+ discount on our favourite T-Bone steak.
