Reviews for Wisemans Retreat
Lucille Burton
Family of four staying in a Village room for 2 nights. We had a late arrival check in so the staff made sure that we would be able to easily access our room and everything was set up upon arrival. Room was adequate, nothing special but neat and tidy. Walking distance to the local pub and bowling club. It was quite a good weekend stay. Would definitely stay again.

Honest review here. I never usually reviewmany places at all but Me and my partner paid for a superior Room for 3 nights, We requested that we wanted a ground floor room as my partner has a disability, They literally downgraded the room instead, the rooms fridge wasn't even working, the air conditioner was really old and barely cooling the room down, The toiler paper holder was about to fall out of the wall. We rang and complained stating this wasn't a superior room and they gave us a better room, but this room was basically the same, it just had a slightly better view and a newer Air conditioner but a smaller, older television which we found odd Also the shower was mouldy and it smelt like sewage the whole time we stayed there as they were pumping out a drain outside the whole time... the wood on the balcony is also rotted. Beds are really uncomfortable and hard. Pillows are not soft. Pool closes too early as we stayed there in summer, no shade over Pool at all. No microwaves in room No room service, took 4 hrs to get towels brought to the room. No bin bags for the room and no offer to turn the room over for the 3 days we stayed there. Did not feel relaxed or revived leaving the " retreat" if thats what anyone would call it. They really need to rennovate the whole place and put some TLC into it.

Wisemans ferry is a quiet, tranquil location to spend a few relaxing days. Wisemans Retreat is a beautiful resort with well kept grounds, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We had a lovely 3 day stay here while we explored the upper Hawkesbury area.

What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We felt like we had the place to ourselves on the off-peak, weekday upon which our weekend began, and were delightedly surprised to see a large family, accommodated easily by this beautiful, untouched location. Their kids ran free, safe, easily supervised by adults as myself and my partner enjoyed fresh cooked meals at the local cafe and bowling club. A place to be free, but also respectful, and somewhere I look forward to visiting again, very soon.

Location is good and the grounds of the resort are lovely, but unfortunately that’s where the good review ends. For a 4 star accommodation I was very disappointed. The cleanliness was very poor, even after being moved rooms we still had mold in the shower, dirty pillowcases and filthy sink with multiple dead cockroaches on the floor. The bed was not very comfortable, the facilities are very aged and could do with some upgrading.
