When food arrived 35 minutes after order, the stake was done instead of medium rare and they forgot the topper. The waiter was nice and gave me a beer as compensation.

By far the best steak I've ever had. Highly, highly recommend. Ribs are cooked perfectly and the chicken burger is top notch. Prawn cocktails were great too. Quick turnaround on orders. Venue has a small play area for kids aswell

We walked in after driving 10 hours from the gold coast, had an empty beer can with us, ordered a beer, group of 10, drank our beer went to order another round and got kicked out by the old red head lady. I’d hate to be the owner of the pub, as she just lost over 1k.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here at Allenstown Hotel as a group of 4 - A1++++ meals cooked to perfection. We have frequented the hotel, several times over the past 3 years for lunch. We thought we would venture there for tea as something different. Did not however enjoy the rude blonde staff member at the bar in the restaurant area, who was very abrupt in her manner with us. Firstly was when she delivered our meals to our table with another male staff member, he was very kind & polite - her way of approaching us was " here's your meal" And then later as we were preparing to leave after finishing a perfect dessert - was the same rude, abrupt female from the bar at the restaurant approached us with not a hello or an excuse me but with an abrupt " Just so you know, we shut at 8.30pm which is in like 2 to 3 mins, soooo" We informed her politely that we were preparing to leave and we then did, without fuss. If she doesn't like her job, maybe she should find a different one, instead of being rude to the customers who are just there to enjoy a meal out. Management should be ashamed to have someone such as this person working for them, who is actively driving customers away with her bad attitude. Customer service skills equal nil. Very disappointed were the 4 of us, as we said the meals were absolutely fantastic, one of the best meals we have had in Rockhampton. Sadly we will not be returning due to this staff members attitude and abruptness.

Travelled 4 hours each way to play a function in this venue. Due to timing we weren't able to finalise our meal order for 6 people till around 8:15 due to our function. The bistro/restaurant were more than happy to take the order but instructed it will be delivered through the front bar as they were in the process of closing up. We understand this and have no issue. One meal was requested to be prepared as take away. Meals started to come out around 8:30 or so. Was mentioned on the last drop that they still have the take away order to come. About 20mins later we started thinking that it should have arrived by now.. go to ask and the bistro is shut. Found a bar staff member and mentioned our issue. They exclaimed that no-one is there, they're all finished! Finally located the missing meal, sitting in a take away box on a bench somewhere. We took the meal to our friend who was unable to eat it. The steak, veges and chips all cold, chips were wet and soggy due to the salad and meat juices. As the bistro was shut he was unable to discuss the issue with anyone from that part of the establishment, nor were we able to get a replacement meal. It's a shame as all of the other meals were pretty delicious with the exception of a few minor things.
