A Hungry Hippo
Disappointing service and pricey food. Staff are incompetent and lie to you, even if the food was decent, the price and terrible service offset the experience enough that I would never come back here again. There are other speciality restaurants a drive away with better pricing and quality food, the food here is very standard pub food and overpriced. The service is straight dog, maybe they are understaffed or pay low wages as staff are clumsy, spill drinks and forget immediately after they make any promises to clean up after themselves. Why do people tolerate such low standards?

Came here last night for the round up country club night, i’m newly 18 and was super excited for this experience. I’ve had dinner with my family at this restaurant and loved it. So I was super excited to experience this venue at 18. At first i was served at the bar by a guy who i believe was named Kai. He was so friendly and welcoming, even helped us out by recommending drinks. (we are new to this) We all absolutely loved his customer service and his kindness got us all super keen for the night ahead. Later when we came back to the bar we were served by a girl who seemed to be the one in charge behind the bar. Although she was extremely rude, she just stood there straight faced staring at me and overall just made me feel super uncomfortable and feel really unwelcome. I understand when in supervisor roles, like she looked to be in, you have to be a little more serious/professional. But that does not mean you have to be rude, her service just felt like judgy high-school attitude and her judgment put us all off wanting to go back to the bar. If not for Kai’s service we probably would have left right after she served us. We are all newly 18 at some point, that did not make me “less than” any of the other customers. Its really not that hard to be nice.

The place looks good and has good views. Pity the food was well below standard!!! Steak was thin and poor quality with no dressing on salad. Thai beef salad was flooded with dressing!! (Like at least 1/2 cup flooded) Staff were young and inexperienced. Considering quality and prices elsewhere on the island we didn't return to this venue...

Disappointed. Came to visit Bribie for the weekend as my sister and her family just moved here a few months ago. Decided to go for dinner and bingo night at the Bribie Island Hotel. Ordered dinner and a Limoncello Cocktail through the app. The cocktail didn’t taste right, so I asked the bar tender what she used to make it. She said she used Brut. I said that Limoncello is usually made with Prosecco and that this cocktail tastes really bad. She said ‘you’ll have to buy another cocktail!’ I then looked up the menu online and showed her that their menu said that it was served with Prosecco. She then just stood there. I waited there. No words from her. Then after she served 5 people, she said ‘I'll bring another one to your table.’ After waiting 5 minutes at the table, I went back and then she said ‘sorry, I’ll make it now.’ Missed most of the bingo and didn’t have a good night. Next time I visit, won’t be coming back here. The only interaction with staff was the two rude bar tenders. Very bad service.

My family love this venue as it holds many memories from my graduation in 1991, my 1st wedding reception in 1996, my sons wedding reception in 2022 and most recently my 2nd wife’s 40th Birthday celebrations along with many many wonderful dinners. The staff are always very welcoming and take pride in their work. Great food, great location, great staff!
