Early check in 8am, easy car parking. Lobby, bar and restaurant area very stylish and pleasant vibes all round. Had a room on an upper floor, great view of the city, Anzac square through to post office square. Room was tired, furnished with worn tables and chairs, bed was fraying at its bottom layer. For a five star hotel, this needs to sorted out. I missed the 10am cut off for the breakfast buffet so ordered the room service big breakfast, didn’t have to wait long, a good size meal arrived, perfectly cooked and obviously by a talented chef. We invited some friends for a meet up at the bar mid afternoon, the staff there were exceptional, so friendly and impeccable service, ordered many drinks and several cheese platters etc.. it was a memorable experience which will stay with us for a long time. Made it to the breakfast buffet the next morning, again the service was amazing, accommodating and friendly. The offer of different choices of food and beverages was excellent and the quality of preparation exceptional. We sat enjoying this looking over the city perched above Anzac square. All round our stay at Sofitel was wonderful and would have gotten five stars if not for their tired rooms.

I recently dined at Suzette restaurant last Friday evening and had a mixed experience. I never tend to do reviews but believe this one is completely necessary. While the service provided by our waitress, Maya, was exceptional, I was deeply disappointed and disgusted by the terrible management I assumed which was the manager coming from a European lady and Indian man. Firstly, let me highlight the positives. Maya went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. She was attentive and friendly. Maya's customer service truly enhanced our evening, and her professionalism deserves commendation. However, the same cannot be said for the assumed management. they throughout the evening, were rude to their staff and it was visibly clear it made those uncomfortable, as well as me and my partner as we felt bad for the staff. it was evident that the managerial staff lacked customer service. I was genuinely disgusted as a hospitality manager myself. In summary, while Maya's exceptional service made our evening memorable, the disappointing management overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable, comfortable dining experience. I hope that Suzette takes steps to address these issues and improve the overall quality of service for future patrons.

A fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. Great service, room and amenities. Located right in the middle of the CBD. My only gripes where that you have to ask special permission to use the real gym on the 3rd floor; this is usually reserved for athletes but the gym on the top floor is poor. The room did not have its own functioning air conditioning system either which is poor for this level of hotel. Otherwise, very good!

Loved having a home town staycation here. Great rooms and location. We love the fragrance as soon as you hit the lobby!! Upgraded to a suite and was well worth the $$'s.....although its a shame the suites don't come with access to Club Lounge access anymore.

Good: good room and concierge service, excellent convenient location Bad: very poor restaurant service Room experience The room’s bed base was very mobile making the bed constantly moving. Contacted room service which they tried their very best to use towels to lock the wheels of the bed base which I think they did all the could which I do appreciate and the problem did get solved. Restaurant experience However the negative experience stems from the poor services of the hotel restaurant. I ordered lava chocolate cake as dessert which shockingly came as a 90% cooked lava cake with no lava. I reported this to the waitress who took the dish back to the kitchen and I was given a replacement which came fully cooked…..tasted like a brownie. It was super hot, which made me feel like the kitchen staff just put it in microwave to make it fully cooked instead to try to make it lava, but the outcome was not pleasant. When I cut open the cake and showed it to the waitress, she gave me a facial expression that I was an annoying customer making many complaints which I was also shocked as I didn’t expect restaurant staff from a restaurant in a 5* hotel to not know what a chocolate lava cake is (or should be) and instead of recognizing the issue when I cut the cake open and showed it to them, I was treated like I was an unreasonable customer. When I paid the pill, I told the manager about the lava cake problem and asked them to look into it and was told “oh really” with no compensation or apology for the substandard culinary experience which is also not what I expect from a 5* hotel. Anyways, my stay on Sofitel Brisbane was far below what I would expect for this price range, i would not come back again. EDIT Received phone call follow up from hotel advising they have undertaken improvement processes. Also reasonably compensated for the experience. Adjusted review rating in light of above
