Maybe we went on a bad night but it took us literally 15 minutes for a drink to come out once we ordered, and the vibe was very dull. It was a bit awkward and tense. The staff were lovely but it wasn’t a very sociable experience. We left before eating because the food area was taken up by trivia so it was super uncomfortable.

We went for lunch here on Mother’s Day. It was a nice atmosphere, and one of the people coming had a car breakdown. They didn’t arrive until right on when the kitchen closed but the manager Steven was absolutely fantastic and kept the kitchen open for us so we could enjoy a Mother’s Day meal together. We couldn’t be more thankful for how accommodating they were there, and would recommend this place to anyone and as a bonus, the food and drinks with spot on.

The venue is very clean and presented well. It is modern and simple furniture which is easy to use. The apple crumble is just oats and half a handful of apple. So dry too. It’s horrible. We have complained multiple times to staff, but they won’t listen to the feedback. The chocolate cake was stale too. We are done with desserts. The main meals are large which is a positive.

I booked my sister in laws 60th birthday there. Was 32 of us altogether. Family came from Melbourne & NZ to attend. Staff were absolutely wonderful. Our family were so happy with the service. Food was amazing too. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Molly who went above & beyond to help us celebrate this special occasion, I honestly can not thank her enough, she’s amazing. I highly recommend Newnham Hotel & I will continue to go there with my family 😊

We recently used the function room for an 18th birthday party, lots of space, excellent facilities and staff was very accommodating. The buffet meal was pretty average though. If the meal had been better I would have given 5 stars.
