Excellent lunch spot with welcoming and cheerful service staff. The overall food experience was enjoyable, although the chicken with mushroom lacked a bit of flavor. However, everything else on the menu was delicious and flavorful, though the downstairs atmosphere could be a bit livelier.

We had a great meal at Chu The Phat. The food was outstandingly good! They certainly don't skimp on the portions and the meals are value for money! For entree we shared the poached chicken salad. It was light, fresh, full of delicious delicately poached chicken tossed with herbs, micro greens and ginger in a light Asian dressing. Mains were Coral Coast crispy skin Barramundi fillet in a sweet coconut curry broth, with herbs and steamed rice and the Apple Glazed Beef Ssam. The fish was cooked beautifully, crispy and swimming in a bowl of curry. The beef was served Korean style with lettuce and shiso leaves, daikon, kimchi, mayo, and fermented red pepper sauce to wrap it in. A side of green beans in XO sauce and steamed rice complemented the meal. Our food was perfectly presented, served hot with friendly, helpful service. The drinks were cold and whilst there is not an extensive cocktail list, they are good value and tasty. Highly recommended.

A decent wine list, the eventual pick was lovely, not a regret at $85 for the bottle. The menu is also requires some contemplation, a tricky assortment of classic flavours and more novel combinations. The starters of choice were excellent, unique components to the kimchi bacon and corn and coriander dumplings, as well as the mung bean pancake. Together they felt balanced and purposeful. The mains were a bit disappointing particularly when considering the price point. I thought the chicken stir fry was nondescript, like a 15minutes straight home from work concoction. The pork obviously far more time intensive and it was well executed, but I was wanting more from the condiment parings. Freshness of substance was a craving. Service was good and just what you’d expect. The ambience is fine, relaxing enough, but nothing remarkable or that I’d place extra value on. Over all enjoyable dining but it was carried by the wine and starters. In the end it felt too expensive for what it was.

Chu the Phat is a favourite of mine but I hadn't had the chance to return there for a while. A launching point for my birthday Restaurant hopping night - we decided to dive deep into the Margarita & Dumplings event. We gormandized on Wagyu Dumplings, Duck Buns and these incredible Chicken Ribs. We accompanied these delightful eats with their great selection of Margaritas; lychee, spicy, passionfruit. The service and vibes were great and I cannot wait to return.
