Reviews for Calile Hotel

It's a beautifully designed hotel that feels luxurious and gives the holiday vibe at the same time. Room was spacious with a good size round table for dining and/or working. It has a open closet which was convenient to leave the suitcases open but at the same time it can look messy with clothes all just hanging out in the open. The only thing we didn't like was the open design of the bathroom. As much as the toilet is separated with a door, the lack of privacy in the bathroom is not ideal for me. Service overall was very attentive - everywhere in the hotel. There are so many of staff and all so friendly all around. Location is very convenient to restaurants and buses. Plenty to do and see around the area! Everything went well except for a few little things which is no big deal but given the claim to be 5 star and the price we pay, I was annoyed on our last day where housekeeping was only half completed with towel still left in the basin, amenities not replenished, bin not emptied etc basically it looked like housekeeping came in and had to rush out. I gave this feedback to guest services and they were prompt in addressing my complaint and offered a late check out but it wasn't communicated to housekeeping as I got the knock on the door at 11:30am asking if I was leaving. Why try to fix things just to ruin it again. Overall, it's a lovely place but for that price and target audience, then they need to work onconsistency and attention to detail.

Stayed here for 3 nights mid week with my family. Upon checking in to checking out the staff were flawless. The atmosphere is vivid and the people watching is even better. The pool facilities are second to none. The pool menu has a wide range and the zucchini chips were the best I have ever eaten. We had snacks down at the lounge bar and found the prawn sliders to be quality and the none alcoholic options were progressive. There are so many facilities within the james st precinct you shouldn't have to leave. Multiple restaurants, coffee shops, room service, gym, spa, clothes shopping, bars. I would definitely come again.

My assessment is based on the cost vs. what you would expect from another hotel for this price. For $900 a night there was no free water in our room, a welcome pack with details of deals etc (we were told by some stores that guests were offered a 10% discount), bar closed at 9pm (!), few amenities in the room. So though it is a nice hotel, great location, it is not a 5 star hotel.

The Calile has a beautiful atmosphere and very polite staff, which makes for a lovely stay. That said, for a five-star hotel at this price point, breakfast isn’t included, room restocks are only on request, and housekeeping missed small details like vacuuming the bathroom. On our last day, pool access was restricted and prioritised for incoming guests, and the hotel wasn’t flexible with extending checkout despite a later flight. Overall, a nice experience but a few areas could be improved to truly meet five-star expectations.

Stayed recently and found the experience quite average. Service felt disengaged, and room service was disappointing. The menu was limited, food quality didn’t match the hotel’s reputation, and both meals and coffee arrived cold after a long wait. Restaurants and bars in the hotel and surrounding were excellent. Housekeeping also missed the mark, with bathroom benches left uncleaned each day our room was serviced. For the price and location, there are better options in Brisbane. Wouldn’t hurry back.
