As a local family juggling stressful jobs and a busy schedule, we were looking for a relaxing escape close to home—and Cairns Colonial Club Resort delivered beyond our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for, making it the perfect spot to unwind and spend quality time together. The room was clean and renovated, modern, and incredibly comfortable—exactly what we needed for a peaceful night’s rest. The food was outstanding, with every dish tasting fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Special mention to Matthew, the operations manager, exceptional customer service. He greeted every guest with genuine warmth and went above and beyond to ensure everyone, including us, was having a great time. It’s clear he takes pride in creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our son had a blast too, which made the experience even more special for us as parents. We’re so lucky to have a place like this right in our community. We stayed here either side of travelling elsewhere. We were very impressed at how family friendly it was and how clean everything was. We felt that having an air-conditioned room for after you've checked out, with a shower in case you still want to use the pools was definitely going the extra mile! All staff were very helpful and extremely welcoming. We had a room across from the bar/resteraunt, we expected to be kept awake with noise the noise in the evening, but we weren't at all.

I recently stayed at the Colonial Club Resort in Cairns and enjoyed the overall experience. The resort has a lovely atmosphere, and the amenities are excellent. However, I would appreciate it if the room service could be improved. There were a few occasions where the service fell short of expectations. Enhancing this aspect would definitely elevate the guest experience. Despite this, I had a pleasant stay and would consider returning in the future.

Great experience, room was clean, they even set up a portable cot for us ready to go when we got to the room. Fantastic for families. It's close to the city if your planning to go in to the city. We booked a superior room. It's great that there is food and beverages on site. Breakfast, lunch and dinner sorted. Go cart and mini golf on site. Playground for the kids. Pools are great. Very reasonably priced for families. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be staying again.
