The bathrooms are really dated and difficult to use (Taps take 3 turns past closed to stop running, toilet flush jams down, shower still has curtain which went out of fashion many years ago), but having said that, the hotel is really nice and I still give 5 stars because they do really well with what the offer. Only stayed 1 night but we enjoyed the stay and would be back. It was very reasonably priced, nice location, service was excellent and the little touches (Like the choc chip cookies in reception), were appreciated. Also a nice pool area.

Reasonably priced room. It’s definitely you get what you pay for. Bathroom is becoming outdated however sufficient enough with good water pressure. Beds are extremely comfortable. Great location

This hotel is in a great location with many restaurants in walking distance. We stayed for 10 days and decided after arriving to upgrade to a slightly larger room that had a sofa. When we checked in, Jacqui was working and took wonderful care of us, making sure we had what we needed and made us feel welcome and at home. The room itself was very nice with a wonderful view, the pool was clean and nice, laundry area was clean with free use of the washers and dryer, but overall the hotel could use a little updating, mainly obvious in the lifts. The breakfast area was nice and well stocked, but it would have been nice if the restaurant was open evenings also. While we were there, any time we needed something, we tried to ask Jacqui as she was always helpful and friendly. There was an older woman with dark hair and glasses who worked the check in desk, and she wouldn't even look up when we walked past. We tried to speak to her as we were coming or going and either got no response or just a small nod. She was really the only negative experience we had with any of the employees there, as everyone else was friendly and helpful. I can definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there the next time I am in Townsville.

Attended a wedding function here last weekend. The wedding itself was simply delightful. The staff running the venue were kind, bubbly and provided such a great atmosphere. The next morning I dined in the breakfast buffet - I could not believe the bang for my buck. Affordable and high quality, would come back in a heartbeat.

We recently stayed at the Ridge Hotel and had a mixed experience. The staff at the front desk were absolutely amazing—friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay for a day. The location was okay, not particularly remarkable but convenient enough for getting around. Unfortunately, the interior of the hotel felt very old and tired, desperately in need of renovation. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness. Dust had built up everywhere, and it was clear that proper cleaning standards are not being maintained. I would rate the cleaning just 1 star.
