Did the snorkelling day trip package. Wrecks were lovely and diving staff were experienced. Prescription goggles were advertised however required a $50 hold on your card and only went up to -3 prescription. Very disappointing considering other snorkelling tours in Queensland have more than double that prescription available for a fraction of the cost. In addition it took a very long time for everyone to be set up for the tour and ran nearly 45 minutes overtime, we had to run back to catch the boat back home. Lovely area but definitely needs some better management.

Just went for a day trip, and it was amazing. Caught the ferry over, which was about 1.5 hours. Then, we walked all the way down to the wrecks for snorkelling. The walk to the wrecks was quite far, but it was a beautiful stretch of beach. We paid $90 each, which included the ride over, $25 lunch voucher (which is the perfect amount), a drink for the ferry, and access to all the resort amenities. Well worth the price.

Very run down villas- service at reception totally lacking. Had a chirpy bloke with acne who did his best not to assist at all. Heavy bags and had to walk miles to the villa. Villas were old and tired. Dolphin feeding a laugh. Some good but expensive activities and zero customer service at bar and cafe. Got the worst steak I think I’ve ever had. If it wasn’t for the over priced tours that actually made our stay I would be giving one star for everything. Also manager at tour desk also absolutely did nothing to assist. Kind of sucks when single mum has to haul bags for a fortune when no one can be bothered to offer anything- happily offered assistance to the next customer though??? Guess maybe I wasn’t part of a fancy tour?

Truly surprised at some of the reviews. All the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. Sure, your coffee may take a while during the morning rush but give them a break, or go outside of peak times. There are limited restaurants and menu options especially if you're staying more than 3 nights. But again, I think people should set their expectations when coming to an island resort. The resort shop (convenience store) sells basic ingredients for a sandwich (or pay $7.50 for a ham and cheese sandwich at the coffee lounge). They also sell meats so you can bbq yourself in designated areas. We stayed 3 nights in the newly renovated Kookaburra building, comfortable for 2 adults; a good walking distance from the reception/dining areas. The quad bike tour was a lot of fun so I highly recommend it. The desert area was relatively easy to walk to and absolutely stunning! All in all, the resort appeared to run very smoothly. It can't be easy, so credit to all the staff.

Great place to visit via the ferry, which takes about 90 minutes. You can reserve everything before you go or purchase it there. We had a package with Get Your Guide that included the ferry there and back, snorkeling and kayaking and all the equipment. We only had to pay $10 for the locker rental. It can be bumpy on the waters in the way over but it is a lovely day at Tagalooma!
