Reviews for Tangalooma Island Resort

I was apprehensive after reading some bad reviews but feeding the dolphins was a bucket list item for me. We did the day trip which included glass bottom boat road and dolphin feeding with included meal vouchers. Right from the start when we arrived at the terminal the service was fantastic. I was greeted by very friendly boat crew who gave us priority boarding as we had a pram. Further more to this they had no issue with me bringing my cool cabana as carry on even though it was over sized. Service on board was exceptional and the boat crew even gave my children some yummy biscuits every time we went to the bar. I recommend sitting upstairs if you can as the view is better and very comfortable lounges. You are able to move around the boat as you please to get better views. As we left the terminal on the catamaran it was announced there would also be an additional 2500 people on the island because of a cruise ship and a huge storm predicted, this sent me into an unnecessary panic about space and ability to get food or complete planned activities. But because we had pre booked tours there were no issues there and no over crowding, plenty of space to set up for the day on the beach with our cool cabana and food and beverage service was very efficient. We were able to get ample meals with the food vouchers and food and beverages prices were surprisingly reasonable and good quality. The beach is beautiful, the resort itself is very well maintained and easy to navigate and all staff were friendly and helpful. Highlights were the beautiful beach and warm water, awesome band they had on for the day (Geed UP Band #Worst Show Ever) and watching an incredible lightening storm as we ate our dinner. The storm cleared and we were still able to go ahead with the dolphin feeding. Only negative is that time spent in the water with the dolphin wasn’t long but this is understandable as they are wild dolphins. I would highly recommend this to anyone, and next time we will actually spend a few days staying on the island to do more activities.

[Have had a bad day] Paid $155 package Inc. return ferry tickets, a drink on the ferry, Quad bike ride, food voucher equivalent to $25 adult and access to the facility. And I'm extremely fuming!! - ATV quad bike was a terrible experience for me and ruined my day. I understand that due to the safety reason, the instructor will determine if the individual can drive or not. And I drove that bike into the ocean twice so they decided not to let me drive instead of carry me. Well, that's nice of them but it would be much better if they just explained to me that not just calling me "come come come x 5" or could give me opportunities to ride again where much easier area. I've just been on the behind of the instructor for the whole experience 45mins. For the next group, there was only one group, why don't you just let me do it again!! After finishing the ride, the instructor didn't even ask me to get off just ignoring me and ran away. He was such a mean person. I'm so mad and fuming. Terrible experience.

We stayed for 3 days, Good points - awesome island too look around, dolphin feeding and kookaburra feeding quad bikes are all amazing. The villa was lovely, we had a luggage not arrived they were so helpful and found it and brought it to us great service there… Bad points - service and food were terrible and overpriced, always had nothing left I heard other people complaining in front of me, breakfast had nothing left by 9 am and its only egg and bacon muffins or sandwiches, dinner time was awful only fatty burgers or fish chips had a butter chicken with rice left half of it as it was tasteless, only one restaurant Malaysian and prices start from $35. You would think they would have a few little restaurants. Chatted with a few nice people around they all said the same I would only recommend coming over for a day. Very disappointed…..

Did not stay in the resort but went to the resort on theyr day cruise pass as wanted to snorkle the wrecks. We didn't bother getting the boat to the wrecks as I don't like to be restricted and it was easy enough to get to from the beach opposite the wrecks but no your limitations. Also if swimming from the beach choose to go 2 hours either side of low/high tide to limit the currents. Well worth seeing and plenty of marine life. We where able to hire what we wanted and also access the pool/spa facilities . We also got $25 food voucher with the deal. Sadly there was some plastic on the amazing beach that people walked past or picked it up only to throw into the bushes ?. We picked it up and used the bins close by so help the marine life and bin it if you come across any 👍
