My husband and I recently visited this gem in Broadbeach after seeing their famous cacio e pepe on TikTok and wow, it did not disappoint! Usually if I have to much dairy, it’ll give me runs. Well this one didn’t!!! Anyway, we started by giving them a call ahead to check if they were still serving, and the staff advised us to arrive before 2:30 PM, which we really appreciated. After a quick shopping at Pacific Fair, we made it just in time to Broadbeach and were warmly welcomed. We ordered the beef carpaccio, fish of the day tartare, their signature cacio e pepe, and a spicy margarita (hands down the best I've ever had — perfectly balanced with just the right kick!). Our server, Leo, asked if we’d like all the dishes served at once. As two very hungry people, we said yes, but he suggested staggering them so we could fully enjoy each dish and he was absolutely right. Each plate came out perfectly timed, allowing us to savour every bite without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The highlight? Watching Pao serve the cacio e pepe tableside straight from the cheese wheel its such a fun and indulgent touch that added to the whole experience. The food was outstanding, with generous but reasonable portions. The service was top-notch: friendly staff, attentive without being intrusive, our water glasses were never empty (a blessing in the warm Gold Coast weather), and the table was kept neat throughout. The relaxed ambience made it even better, stylish yet laid-back. Couldn’t recommend this place more. If you're ever in the Gold Coast and craving great pasta with exceptional service, this spot is a must-try.

We arrived without a booking and were advised the only seats available were at the bar. We happily accepted and had the most wonderful evening. The bar tenders were fun, engaging and talented. Dom and Matteo kept us entertained with their stories, antics and cocktail making prowess. Everyone was super friendly and willing to share a laugh. Oh and the food was pretty good too with the lamb being the highlight! Thank you to such a wonderful team!!!

amazing experience! Matheus was super friendly, attentive, and just really easy to talk to. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does — he also shared his story with us, and it made the whole experience feel so personal. Matheus knew the menu well & gave us solid recommendations! Rare to come across someone who serves with warmth and pride in their work. Thank you for making it memorable! Isa B. also helped us alot 👍🏽

We dined at Sofia’s Broadbeach on Saturday for the first seating of the night and left disappointed. Some starters were already unavailable even at the first seating. Two breads came out, one heavily over-salted and the other lacking any seasoning at all. The plates on the table had multiple chips, and when asked about it staff said they were too expensive to replace. Service was disorganised from the beginning. Ordering was chaotic, drinks were forgotten, and after entrees came out it took over an hour for main meal orders to even be taken. Three beers were ordered, two arrived quickly, but the third took another 15 minutes despite asking three different staff. Waiters seemed impatient and unsure of which dishes were which, leading to wrong entrees being delivered and mislabelled. They specifically asked if it was a special occasion and we said it was a birthday, yet nothing was done with that information, not even a happy birthday. Why ask at all if nothing will be acknowledged? Food was mixed. Oysters, cocktails and tiramisu were excellent, and desserts were decent. The steak listed at 1.6kg for $170 was brought to the table in packaging before cooking, and both steaks shown were only 1.5kg. While the meat tasted good and was seasoned well, it was cooked medium well instead of medium rare. The peppercorn sauce was tiny, overloaded with capers, and very salty. When questioned, the waiter told us to use less sauce before reluctantly bringing more. The $40 prawn pasta was undercooked and the pasta water lacked salt, with only four small prawns in the dish. The $80 for two servings of pasta rolled in the parmesan wheel was hoped to be a highlight, but it arrived raw with store-bought pasta. Although replaced, the redo was cooked better but again in unsalted water, and even that much delicious cheese could not save it. The rack of lamb at $70 came out with only two bones and lacked both quality and quantity. Sofia’s sets its bar as fine dining, yet both front and back of house lack the training and execution required to deliver that standard. It was a memorable occasion for all the wrong reasons
