I am writing to express my disappointment following our recent stay at the Rendezvous in Perth. We stayed last week and returned home on 31 January, and after reflecting on the experience, we felt it important to provide feedback. While the hotel is in a great location, the overall stay fell well below expectations. The property is currently under renovation, which resulted in a noticeable lack of atmosphere. Front‑of‑house staff appeared disengaged, and the level of service was average at best. We were also surprised to learn that there was no pool or outdoor area available during our stay—particularly disappointing given it is summer. The complimentary passes provided were for a public pool, which was not an acceptable alternative. We did not pay to use a public facility, especially while on holiday, and no meaningful gesture of goodwill was offered to acknowledge the inconvenience. Renovating such a key amenity during peak season was especially frustrating. We have since spoken with family and friends in both Perth and Melbourne, and all were equally disappointed by the situation and surprised that no gesture of goodwill was offered. Many of them commented that they too would look elsewhere for accommodation, and I am sure the word will spread, as they expected far better from a hotel of your standard. Given these issues, we will be looking elsewhere for accommodation when we next visit Perth, which is disappointing as the area itself is fantastic. We had expected a higher level of service, communication, and overall quality from a hotel of your calibre. 16/02/2026 Hi Nikol P, in other words, thanks for your feedback but once you have customers booking and money you don't give two hoots!!! Like I mentioned before family and friends both in Perth and Melbourne have been told about your lack of empathy and trust me the word is spreading. And as I mentioned before I expected a higher calibre of service.

We’re currently on our second (and final) night of a two-night stay at Rendezvous, celebrating our daughter’s birthday, and it has truly been a lovely experience overall. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed. The birthday note for our daughter was such a thoughtful touch, and the complimentary chocolates and bottle of wine were a wonderful surprise — small gestures that made the celebration feel extra special. One of the highlights of our stay has been the breakfast buffet. I honestly didn’t expect much at first and had only booked breakfast for one morning, but after experiencing it today, I immediately added breakfast for our second morning as well. It was absolutely worth it. The selection was great, everything was fresh, and the kids especially loved the pancake station. We also really appreciated the little goodie bag for the kids — the beach hat, lollies, and the adventure passport (complete with free ice cream) were such a hit and made our daughter feel very spoilt. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a very comfy bed, great pillows, and a beautiful ocean view that we enjoyed throughout our stay. Every staff member we’ve interacted with has been friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely, which made a big difference. If I had to mention a couple of minor downsides: the parking area had an unpleasant smell, and while the room was clean, parts of the bathroom/toilet area do feel a little dated. That said, neither of these took away from our overall enjoyment. All in all, we’ve had a wonderful stay and felt well looked after. The thoughtful touches, excellent breakfast, and warm hospitality made this a memorable birthday getaway for our family. We’d happily stay again.

Great location average hotel. Under renovation but lacked any vibe. Front of house Staff need to learn how to smile. Average service. No pool, under renovation, great management to renovate the pool during summer. Room was large, bed was comfortable and climate control worked well. Room was dated and needs work. Toilet dodgy, shower door didn’t close so every time we had a shower floor got flooded. Had a bidet that wasn’t working. The balcony was useless waste of space, no furniture to enjoy the great view. Balcony door had a lock on it, not sure who you need to keep out at 25 floors up. Gym was poor, old and missing weights. Definitely look elsewhere when we return as the area is great.

IF YOU WANT VALUE FOR MONEY-NOT HERE.. This is what you get at this hotel. Booking in was so slow, we waited for 25 minutes while one person booked in a customer that seemed to want the world. The room was their No. 1 room type. The carpet had burn marks on it. The shower water went all over the bathroom floor as the screen didn't do it's job. The room was meant to have been refurbished, not. The door to the bath room ws patched, so paying top dollar for a room tha clearly was just given a lick of paint. Was told the buffet breakfast was the best in town when booking. Dry scrambled eggs, crossiants that were IN MY OPINION from a pack of 10 from coles and to top it off you had to pay for your coffee, $5 yes $5 on top of the room and the breakfast. You have to walk 500m to go to the pool because some bright spark decided it was best to fix the pool during summer. This sums up this hotel...

Our Stay – Disappointing Despite Recent Renovations Arrival was frustrating right from the start. The valet drop-off area was undergoing renovations, forcing us to search for parking on the beach side of the hotel. The underground parking proved too small for our vehicle, so we had no choice but to leave the car on the street. Check-in took much longer than expected, as the staff member assisting us appeared inexperienced. To make matters worse, our assigned room wasn’t ready even though we arrived at 4 pm. After some waiting, we were eventually moved to a different room. The hotel’s pool was closed during our stay, and we were casually told we could use another pool about 10 minutes down the street if we wanted. The main escalator at the entrance was also out of service, so we had to use the disabled access lift instead. While the rooms have clearly been recently renovated and look modern on the surface, several details fell short of expectations: • The tap in the bathroom was loose • The toilet seat was wobbly • The bathroom door showed signs of wood rot that had simply been painted over The bed itself was extremely uncomfortable, and the pillows were far from plush or supportive. Finally, being on the 17th floor didn’t protect us from the noise. The street outside turned into something of a drag strip on Friday night, with loud traffic and revving engines keeping us awake well into the early hours. Wouldn’t stay here again
