We had a lovely dinner here tonight catching up with some family here while visiting from Perth. Really enjoyed the food, Parmi was exceptional. Service from most staff was very good, welcoming, friendly with the exception of the redhed bar attendant, Mel I think, who definitely needs a few lessons in customer service. Not a hint of a smile, surly, blunt, unfriendly. Obviously didnt want to be there and certainly didnt want to serve us, even though it was a quiet night. Luckily the other staff and the food made up for her rudeness.

We stayed here and also had the chance to try the food, and it was a pretty good experience overall! The rooms were really nice, especially for the price we paid. Everything was super clean, and the bathroom was spotless, which was a huge plus after traveling for 8 hours. It’s always a relief to arrive at a place that feels fresh and well-maintained. The staff were also fantastic – super friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even better. As for the food, we started with the bruschetta, which was fresh and flavorful! The balance of tomato, onion, cheese, and olive oil was spot on, and it was a perfect starter to enjoy. I ordered the chicken Kiev, and while it had potential, I’d probably give it a 3/5. Unfortunately, it was a bit tough and dry, which made it harder to enjoy. It didn’t quite hit the mark for me. On the other hand, the chicken parmigiana was juicy and delicious – definitely a highlight of the meal! It was cooked just right, with tender chicken and a nice, crispy coating. Overall, it was a decent experience

We came here for Sunday lunch, and were pleasantly surprised. The food and service was excellent. Wife was really happy when her favourite song was played. What more can we say except giving a 5/5,

What a gem of a place for our over night stay in Mackay . Was greeted by friendly smiling helpful staff. Our room is basic but very tidy n clean. Was pleased to see a toaster, microwave, crockery n cutlery. Plus tea coffee etc. Shower clean and hot water. Beds comfy. Food in the pub was yum. Will definitely stay again.

Went for a birthday dinner we booked ONLINE. The Venue Manager Heather was extremely rude and some much attitude when we came in for a family birthday dinner, the restaurant side was closed for a big venue and walked out and yelled “this is a private function go that way for bookings. and then said “did yous book 30 mins before walking in” and told her we didn’t and kept asking us for a name and we said online it didn’t ask. Then continued to be rude about our booking and how they didn’t have a table. So luckily the Duty Manager was so nice and helped us feel more welcome.
