This is a very welcoming hotel. It's in an ideal location, has parking and offers great and varied food. The room wasn't the largest we've enjoyed, but it was comfortable and had everything we needed. There was little external noise and we slept well.

We had a pleasant two night stay the Spicers Balfour Hotel. The service staff and the restaurant are the heroes of this venue. The quality of the food was right up there with some of the nicest places we have dined. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The highlights were the a la carte breakfasts and Taste it All Dinner. Coffee was great. The food was absolutely divine. We stayed in the accessible queen room. It was average. External noises late at night were disruptive (doors closing, people walking past in the hall way, noises through the wall to other rooms - phone calls, etc). The mattress had a dip in the middle, and more attention needs to be paid to changing the linens (i.e. when we first folded back the sheets, we located a long black hair). The sink and tapware need a good scrub to loose residual grime. The room had a faint damp smell, I believe due to the bathroom only having a shower curtain as a door. The bathroom was also a wet room, so when having a shower almost the entire floor becomes wet. You also must then walk through the puddles when accessing the toilet. The curtains gave hospital vibes, however this may stem from the room being an 'accessible' one? This may be a booking error on my part. I would upgrade my room on the next stay. Shampoo, body wash etc provided and smelt & felt lovely. There were an assortment of generic nibbles and soft drinks provided at a cost. No mini fridge. The hallway rug needs replacing. Overall, I would definitely visit the hotel again solely for the restaurant and service.

I had an amazing experience at the Balfour Hotel while working as a wedding vendor for an event there. Dominic was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating, ensuring I had lunch and a nice table. The chef was also wonderful, going out of his way to prepare a special vegetarian meal, even though the kitchen was only serving high tea at the time. He personally checked in to make sure I had enough food and that everything was to my satisfaction. Thank you so much to the whole team!

I perhaps had too high of an expectation for something being a 5 star establishment. It felt like your very average 3 star hotel experience. No part of our stay of two nights made me want to recommend it to anyone.

Had a really great stay in Balfour. We stayed at the Simla side, Unit 12 and it was ultra quiet, which was amazing because I absolutely hated noise. The unit was big, clean and beautiful, the beds were super comfy and the room service was great. We got three bottles of filtered water, my only disappointment was that the bottle said sparkling but it wasn’t 🤣🤣
