This was my first time at Stamford and I am very pleased with the service, quality and price of my stay! Just one issue which could be addressed, the Air conditioning units block a great view! Thank you very much! I will return in the future!

My husband and I did the romance package for our 29th Wedding Anniversary. It was a truly amazing experience. The staff were all lovely, especially the Martin who helped me take our bags out to the car when we left. The room was set up beautifully. A rose and rose petals on the bed. Strawberries, canapes, and champagne on arrival just beautiful. The room was perhaps a little dated, but it is an older building, so you expect older style furnishings. If you would like to do something special for someone special then I highly recommend it.

It may have been Grand once, but it isn't any more. Old and tired hotel. Gave it 2 stars, one for the the shower having good pressure and one because the bed didn't hurt my back. Room was large, but very sparse, just a threadbare and dirty sofa, 2 chairs and a small table, plenty of room for dancing maybe. Cupboard door hanging off. Breakfast buffet appeared reasonable, but as it didn't start until 7am I had little time to appreciate it before heading to work. An earlier start might be an idea given the number of people waiting for it to open at 7am. Finally, I was charged a $300 bond, I am not sure what for, especially since the room and breakfast were paid for by my company. Certainly nothing in the room or pitiful "mini bar" worth that. I won't be back.

Incredibly disappointed. We booked online and received confirmation via email. When we arrived we were advised that they were fully booked out and didn’t have a room for us. There was absolutely no apology. I then asked if we could leave our car in their carpark until we sorted alternate accommodation for the night in consideration for the error and was told that was not possible. I would have expected some sort of compensation (even a complimentary drink!) for the inconvenience and stress. The only reason I have given one star is because the concierge was lovely on our arrival. We were really looking forward to our stay. Service = “not so” grand.

Always enjoy our stay at this hotel. It's right on the waterfront at Glenelg overlooking the famous jetty. The rooms are clean with a classic retro appeal, this time we had one without a balcony & we were disappointed we couldn't open the windows to hear the surf. We did enjoy our evening dinner at the onsite restaurant. Classic dishes never fail to please
