Second time staying here so have experienced two rooms now - they were both extremely dirty, full of cobwebs, missing lights (only one in bathroom could hardly see!) creaky floors, nothing has been dusted in what seems like years. Restaurant food & service was average at best. I would have explained this to the staff but they’re never there - reception was never manned in the two nights that we were there including at check in (in the afternoon of arrival) . The place has clearly been let go and just simply not maintained or at least cleaned regularly. Shame as it’s a great location being in the main street of beautiful Daylesford.

I visited the restaurant with a friend. We ordered a capricciosa pizza to share and a couple of drinks. The pizza was very disappointing, the base was thin, hard and crunchy. The ingredients were scant and mixed together instead of clearly defined. I like to see the ingredients like artichokes than have them mixed in with other stuff. The ingredients did not seem fresh, more like they had come out from a fridge. The small amount of ham had little taste. I reported this to the waiter who said he would inform the cook. At the end of the meal I enquired if the restaurant had changed hands recently and was informed that it had not. The restaurant/cafe at Hotel Frangos was good in the past, especially the pizzas which were on a thicker and fluffier base, more like gourmet pizza and had fresh ingredients. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one just in case they were having a bad day or the normal chef didn't turn up. No serious chef would serve that up. Service was ok but the waiters were disinterested.

Very poor across the board. Will never go back. Attended your restaurant with nine people and our meals arrived at different times including mains served before entrees. Some of us had finished eating when the last two meals were served. Total disorganization and no apologies from your staff. S&P calamari was just battered sticks. Not one of your waiters asked us about our food or experience even when we paid the bill. What a terrible business 😠

Stopped in for dinner & it was fabulous. All four meals were generous serves, nicely presented & delicious. Great looking hotel, really beautiful & warm atmosphere. Cocktails were very good & fair price. So pleased with our time there. Staff were friendly, quick & helpful.

The pizza was possibly the best I've ever had, definitely the best I've had in years. I was walking past exhausted and chose to sit at one of the outdoor tables for a quick break. Saw that I could order from the QR code so I had a quick look. Ended up ordering the Salami pizza and a Canadian club with dry. Drink was out in a few minutes, closely followed by my pizza. Both were perfect. What i saw of staff were friendly and polite, but since it's such a seamless ordering experience I didn't see them again. But didn't need them again either. These other reviews complaining that wait staff weren't attentive clearly weren't using the app because they jump to whatever request I put in.
