This venue will forever have a piece of my heart as I got married here. The view and location of this venue is absolutely breathtaking. Emily was so wonderful and helpful throughout the planning and the day of our wedding. The staff was absolutely amazing and catered to the needs of our guest. I would highly recommend. We will definitely be back if we were to plan an occasion. Thank you the promenade for the great memories.

I have both attended and held events here and everything is always so gorgeous! The view of the city is amazing and in the evenings the fairy lights hanging above the balcony that overlooks the water, adds a magical touch. The venue is spacious and can accomodate for whether you want to hold a smaller or larger event. The staff are fantastic to work with, particularly Leon and Lilly - they always put in an extra effort to meet your needs. Cannot recommend this venue enough!

I initially chose this venue as the perfect place for our wedding due to its location overlooking the gorgeous marina. My event manager Emily looked after us very well, she was so lovely & had made planning stress free for us. The team went above and beyond in every possible way to ensure our day was not only seamless, but truly magical. Every detail was handled with care, professionalism, and warmth — we felt genuinely supported every step of the way. The staff were attentive, organised, and gracious, making us and our guests feel completely at ease. We can’t thank them enough and would recommend this place a thousand times over to any couple looking for an exceptional experience.

We are deeply dissatisfied and disappointed with our engagement party held at The Promenade Docklands on 29/03/2025. Despite months of planning and clear communication, the night was a major letdown—and almost a month later, we’ve still received no resolution from the venue. The event was clearly understaffed, with 10–20 guests consistently waiting at the bar. Only two beers were working on tap—one of which wasn’t even part of our selected package. We weren’t even informed of this by the staff; we found out through our own guests. The food service was abysmal, despite catering for 120 people: • Canapés were barely circulated throughout the venue, resulting in many guests missing out. • Upon arrival, the furniture was not arranged according to the agreed layout. • Sweet items were served before all savoury dishes. • Not all substantial food was served. Upon review after the event we were informed that the chef decided not to serve everything based on their assumption that guests weren’t eating, without consulting us. I can’t understand why they would withhold food we had paid for. • Even guests who stayed until late didn’t receive both the substantial food options as a result of this. • Vegan and kids’ meals had to be chased up multiple times. Vegan meals were offered to all guests (simply stating they were vegan), instead of being prioritised for our actual vegan guests. As a result, some of them were fed very late, if at all. • Most of the guests left hungry, despite the fact that we had made it abundantly clear that food was a priority to us during this event. Even more disappointing was the handling of our $500+ cake. It wasn’t served until most guests had left, and only after several reminders. A family member eventually had to go into the kitchen and retrieve it themselves. No side plates or utensils were provided. We brought two large cakes, yet only had a small amount circulated at the end of the night when most guests had already left, and upon asking for the remainder of the cake to take home, we only received a few small takeaway boxes with no explanation as to what happened to the rest. To make matters worse, our event coordinator, our main point of contact throughout planning, was absent on the night without any prior notice. Staff on-site were unprepared and uninformed. This was a $15,000+ event. The service provided did not reflect the cost, and we were left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and embarrassed in front of our guests on what should have been a joyful and stress free night. We’ve since been offered an inadequate and minimal refund and were told the director would contact us to discuss it further. We’ve received no such contact, just silence. Even after sending another email to our coordinator to follow up, after not hearing from the director for quite some time, we have only been met with silence from her as well. It is extremely disappointing to see how we have been disregarded by the venue for a night that was meant to be so cherished by us. The stress all of these problems both on the night, and in the weeks since the event, is the last thing we wanted. If you’re planning a special celebration, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. Our experience was an utter disappointment and once the night is ruined, there’s no getting it back.

I had such a fantastic experience at this venue. From the gorgeous views, to the amazing atmosphere and delicious food, the promenade is an incredible place to celebrate those special moments. Emily in particular was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable. We loved her personable and genuine approach - she made the overall experience incredibly memorable and stress free.
