Such a lovely gem hidden just around from the Hyatt place in Essendon fields. Service is top notched and the menu does not just have your stock standard chicken schnitzel or burger pub food but inventive twists on pub classics. The tuna tartare with fried anchovies was a real treat as was the chocolate delice with bay leaf ice cream (yes, bay leaf). Both were amazing. Such a lucky find. Will definitely come back again. Staff were super friendly. Main dining room can get quite noisy. Bar area is a bit more intimate. Also their toilets smelled amazing!

Lovely place to visit. Staff were friendly, food was lovely. During the day it is paid parking, though saw a sign inside to ask for a pass. Not sure if it means free parking. Worth a visit.

Service and food was fantastic and I couldn't fault it at all. The atmosphere was great but if you want to talk to people on your table it's near impossible, the noise level was ridiculous. The music and people talking just seems to echo off the walls. Something needs to be done about it.

The steak was well done all although I ordered medium-rare. I talked about a staff when she asked me how the food was, but she said, "Sorry about that", like she didn't care. Although they were still open, many staff were having a break, and no one checked in with me while I was having the steak; otherwise, I could have said. At least some compensation would have been nice. It wasn't cheap there, and it wasn't pleasant eating well-done beef. I expected a nice medium-rare cooked steak, paying that much money, it was nicer if I cooked it at home. Entree and cicktails were nice but with that experience I will never go back. Went there to check by myself before I invite my friends for a group function. So shame, but I was kind of glad to find out prior.

What a delightful place to celebrate my daughters 22nd birthday. All 5 Food dishes and desert was absolutely outstanding and the service from 4 different wait staff was the best I have ever encountered. It was so friendly and engaging and fun. One staff member even loudly joined in singing happy birthday to my daughter with a candle desert cake gift they brought out for her. The ambience for a very cold Melbourne Wednesday night was so warm and cosy. Best birthday night out dinner ever my daughter stated today! What an absolute gem. Hats off and many thanks to all at Mr McCracken for making this such a special birthday night out for me and my family! Can’t wait to return again soon.
