My stay at Hyatt Place Melbourne Essendon Fields was a delight, surpassing all expectations. The staff, from the front counter to room service, provided exceptional service. Karen, our superb wait staff, added a special touch to our dining experience. The king-size bed and pillows were more comfortable than I could have imagined, significantly enhancing the overall quality of our stay. Surprisingly, the hotel gym was more than I expected and was a great addition to our experience. The thoughtful Christmas Day chocolates were a delightful touch, rounding out the impeccable hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding service, comfortable accommodations, and unexpected amenities that elevate the stay.

The hotel is walking distance to the tram, Cole’s, subway, nandos. The housekeeping service was horrible. I don’t think our room was vacuumed for the whole 6 days we stayed, they would only leave us one towel so we constantly had to call housekeeping, the tea was never replenished, the bathroom looked like it was never cleaned, the garbage wasn’t taken out one day. The restaurant in the hotel has amazing service, and it was always packed with people, good atmosphere. Hands down the worst Hyatt I have stayed at and I have stayed at quite a few around the world.

The room was very good, but the service we got from Alyssa on the front desk was exceptional! She really went above and beyond. We also got great assistance from Subit and Amaan late in the evening with a couple of requests. Everyone was so polite, friendly and really helpful. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but there we several options all close by plus, aside from being conveniently located for the airport (with their free shuttle), the hotel is also very close to a couple of outlet malls.

I booked to stay at the hotel for my son's Christmas present. Unfortunately, our flight was cancelled as was the rest of the trip. I booked through wotif who tried to seek a refund on my behalf due to extenuating circumstances. The refund was refused due to a three days prior cancellation policy. I understand there needs to be a policy, however not all circumstances allow for these rules. I would have thought good PR would come before profits, especially if the company wants return business. Very poor form Hyatt.

Hotel is pretty much the definition of mediocre. Not bad but not good either. Room was in very good condition but some staff need a refresher in professionalism. Handy for the airport but otherwise can’t see any compelling reason to stay here.
