Reviews for Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong

Holiday Inn Suites, Geelong. Right, so, small but mighty. This place is brand spanking new, and it shows. Everything's clean, fresh, and feels like it's straight out of a design catalogue. The rooms? Well appointed, as they say. Basically, comfy, stylish, and they've thought of all the little things that make a stay enjoyable. Like finding a decent parking spot at the shops, it's a pleasant surprise. Overall, a good experience. No fuss, no dramas, just a decent place to stay. 4 out of 5, a solid choice for a Geelong getaway.

Property is nice, modern and clean. Reception staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. Toilets were always clean near restaurant and pool. Breakfast Restaurant staff were great and attentive throughout our stay. Kids room was a great bonus and perfect for our kids to play Lego. We managed to find all day free parking on side street behind the Hotel. Housekeeping wasn’t up to standard as the floors were not cleaned in the room and dirty cups were not washed. Coffee station area wasn’t refilled. Pool area wasn’t as clean as expected. Service was OK but not exceptional. I would still like to come back again as I love Geelong!

Really great stay. Staff offered amazing service. Food for breakfast was very good, dinner was okay (very minimal plant based options). Rooms modern, clean and spacious. Really nice. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, rooms didn't offer much sound proofing. You could hear thumping footsteps above and next door joining room loud talking. Staff assisted well with ensuring quiet during late hours. Overall, I recommend this hotel.

While the room was beautiful, there were definitely some areas for improvement... one was that for a 3 night stay at $360 a night, my room wasn't made up once. I asked repeatedly, only to be ignored. The room service people saw me and my colleague leaving one day and said "we will do your room next" so we left for a few hours, came back at 6pm, and room was as I left it. When I asked at reception they said they had gone home. The second thing was that my air-conditioner kept turning off, I reported this twice as my room was STIFLING and nothing was done. It would work for 10 ish minutes, then turn off, so my room was hot and stuffy all the time. Coming back to my roasting hot room after a 12-hour conference was extremely disappointing. Also, on day two we ordered bottles of soda water and some snacks from room service, 45 minutes later nothing arrived. So we called room service a few times over the following 20 mins, no answer any time. Then we called reception and they told us nobody was monitoring the orders? Kinda ridiculous if you're offering 24 hour room service and this was after breakfast. Long story short, the price was not worth the service received. I would probably not stay here again. There are hotels closer to the waterfront that offer a lot more for the $$$. REPLY TO THE HOTELS COMMENT BELOW: The DND was turned on when I was showering, as I don't want people entering my room when I need privacy, aside from that it was not. As stated, the cleaning team stopped myself and my colleague as we were leaving our room for HOURS on the Friday, telling us they would clean my room, and they still did not do it. So I am sorry, but I don't accept this as an excuse. Why would the air-conditioner turn off over night when I am sleeping? Or sitting in my room? During summer when there was a 37 degree day, this seems ludicrous. This needs to change. It was extremely hot and stuffy in my room, which again is crazy for the price of the hotel.

Location and service are great. Rated down slightly because the floor surrounding the pool area was very dirty and put us off doing any swimming. Breakfast was good and served quickly.
