⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must visit in Geelong if you’ve got young kids We visited the Geelong Museum of Play and Art (MOPA) while in town for a Cats game and couldn’t have been more impressed. We went in the morning before the game and it was such a perfect way to spend time with kids before a big day. It’s ideal for children aged around 18 months to 7 or 8 years. We were a little unsure at first after seeing photos, wondering if it might be too focused on preschoolers, but our little guy (a bit older) had an absolute ball and easily played for the full two hours. He would have stayed longer if we let him. There are so many hands on activities that time really does fly. The optional special events and mini sessions throughout the visit were a lovely touch. They were engaging but not expected, which is great if your kids are already busy playing. The venue is well set up for families. There are good coffee and food options that are tasty and reasonably priced, and plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Parking is manageable, though if you’re attending a session close to a Cats game, be prepared for it to be a bit busier than usual. Earlier sessions are best if you’re combining it with game day. Even in winter, it was fantastic. The water play was still popular despite the cold, and in nicer weather the outdoor areas would be even better. MOPA has a solid 4.8 star rating and after visiting, it’s very clear why. If you’ve got little ones in this age range, book a session. You won’t regret it.

What an amazing morning! The kids had an absolute ball! Aside from the terrific activity and play areas, the staff come around at different points and let you know when special activities are starting. Today we did craft time, a storybook movie, and a dress up dance party. Completely worth every cent, and the drive! The staff were so friendly and made the kids feel special. The cafe was well priced and had great drinks and snacks. Highly recommend for anyone with little ones!

Our 3 kids (7, 4 and almost 2 yo) enjoyed their time here. A lot smaller than expected, main floor plus mezzanine level, just sufficient for the kids to be engaged in sensory play for the pre-booked 2 hour session. Low key activities, interesting (though not overly exciting), needs an update, but friendly staff and a good alternative to a busy play centre. Nice that it wasn’t overcrowded especially during school holidays, so kids could take their time exploring each play area with little to no wait time. Quaint place. Kids had a good time 👍

Loved this place, kiddo's didn't want to leave. Something a little different from the normal play centre Educational and structured or just let them do their own thing. Must book and staff our lovely Food and drink available

Took a 3.5 year old there and we had a fabulous day, loads of different types of activities, very spacious, not crowded either. We appreciated the programmed activities as well as free play time. And an observation I thought worth mentioning would be the accessibility wouldn't cater to everybody, as I noticed the turning circles into the bathroom and back ramp to seem a bit tight / narrow. And back door to the outdoor play area has an elevated threshold which could pose an issue to a full time wheelchair user.
