Traveled over an hour to get to the hotel from truganina. Super nice meal, hugely friendly staff. We had a 2 month old with us and we had no problem heating his bottle. No request was too difficult. Will be back again! Rebooking is a must!

During my inaugural visit to the Hallam Hotel, I was absolutely enchanted by the exquisitely prepared grilled salmon, elegantly nestled on a velvety bed of mashed potatoes, complemented by a luscious pesto sauce. Although the mashed potatoes didn't quite reach the pinnacle of culinary perfection, the salmon's unparalleled flavor more than compensated, creating an exceptionally delightful dining experience. The Halloween-themed decorations, featuring ghosts, ghouls, witches, and skeletons, added a captivating and whimsical allure to the ambiance. Priced at just $34, this culinary journey was not only delightful but also remarkably affordable. I eagerly anticipate my next visit. Additionally, it's worth noting that the parking situation behind the hotel and down the side lane might be a bit confusing for some patrons.

Really enjoyed coming back here. Have not been here for such a long time, I love the atmosphere. The staff are amazing here and we absolutely loved the meal. Have been here for work breakups and also team lunches.

We are local and always try to support local venues. In the past the Hallam Hotel has been very good but sadly this week that all changed. We attended for lunch and were two couples. On arrival the young lady at the door thrust some menus in our hand and pointed to the end of the room saying table 10 down there ! That was unfortunately the first sign that this visit was not going to be very customer focused. Shortly after sitting we ordered some garlic bread which arrived in reasonable time. However no small plates were offered and after asking for these the elderly waitress simply looked blankly at us and walked off. She went to greet more customers at the entry. After some time later she returned but we had already finished and used our serviettes instead. Ordering our meals went quite well with a young man taking our orders was good. When our meals arrived the next problem occurred with my wifes senior roast pork being inedible ... I thought by piling the meat up on side of her plate she was going to be looking for a doggie bag to take home. But after eating the veggies I asked her if she was taking the meat home ..... it turned out the pork was so tough and sinewy that it was not eatable ... I tried it myself and confirmed that. When the waitress came to take our plates we raised the concern about the pork and was totally ignored having been shown no concern whatsoever. This was the same waitress that met us at the door (first initial 'T') and it highlighted to me that the staff are not trained in any way to be customer focused. I normally love to give positive feedback but this experience just left us so disappointed that it was necessary to highlight to whoever may elect to address the situation in hope of not repeating for others.
