Outstanding food, exceptional service, and great value! This restaurant consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. The quality of the food is impeccable, and the Wagyu steak is an absolute must-try—perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The restaurant itself has a fancy and elegant vibe, making it ideal for a date night or a special celebration. What truly sets this place apart is the amazing service. Whether you walk in casually or come dressed up for a big event, the staff make you feel equally welcome and valued. During a recent visit with a group of friends for a celebration, the staff went above and beyond by helping hang our coats in the back—a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more special. To top it off, the price of the food is affordable, especially considering the quality and experience. Highly recommend this spot for any occasion—it’s a gem!

Underrated gem that is tucked away from the city, and delivers quality food better than some of the new Melbourne CBD establishments. - baked in house focaccia & whipped butter 3.8/5 more bake n less salt - prosciutto pecorino croquettes 4.25/5 - harvey bay scallops, lobster butter & espelette pepper 4.25/5 - tiger prawns, garlic butter & lemon 4.25/5 - burrata, smoked caponata, evo oil, balsamic (+ jamon ‘bellota’ 42 months) 5/5 - kingfish crudo 4/5 - taglioni al nero crab & scallop, garlic, chilli & crayfish salsa 3.5/5 - 350gr o’connor scotch fillet 3.25/5 but the bone marrow would be a 4 - chips 3.5/5 (+.5 for providing ketchup heheh) - tiramisu 3.25/5 Loved the entrees more than the mains, where in house dry aged steak and housemade pasta wasn’t lacking but was missing that kick in the components of the dish. Steak was a bit dry, but bone marrow helped elevate that fatty rich flavour together. Next time would come back to try their 1.2kg Tomahawk. Entrees were fine dining quality for sure. Scallops were herby and buttery, could be softer. Prawns were divine and rich, but maybe too salty. Loved their croquettes which had that kick of sweet savoury from the hidden prosciutto. But BURRATA was the best thing on that menu - whether you have it with or without the jamon. But I suggest you add or you’re missing out on the most complex yet balanced flavour in your mouth. Great dishes but what amazes me is you can get all this for much less than those restaurants in the CBD, which you’re probably paying for their decor as well as their food.

We went with four people and did the set menu. I will say that it was a very generous amount of food. The service by Max was excellent. We eat out a lot and I had pretty high expectations based on reviews and price. For us the food was very average. We really didn't like the steak tartare. The arancini was pretty bland. The lobster pasta was ok but very strong flavours. The oysters were great. The bread was good. The desert was good. The mains was wagu steak. I come from a family that are in the meat industry and we all felt the meat was very average. The highlight was the cheese board. The box of chocolates. The drinks were good. Our bill for four people was close to $700. At that price I expected a lot more.

We visited Amazon State on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, but sadly, mentioning the occasion when booking was completely pointless. Not only was there zero acknowledgment, but we were also given a random table, rather than a booth or a nicer seating arrangement that would have made the evening feel special. It left us wondering what the point was of mentioning our anniversary at all. The highlight of the night was Justin’s service. He was professional, patient, and took the time to introduce us to the menu, and at the end, walked us to the door to check if everything was okay. Unfortunately, the rest of the team didn’t match his level of care. One of his male colleagues was unhelpful throughout the evening, and service felt inattentive overall. We were charged for sparkling water per person, yet my glass sat empty for almost an hour until I finally had to ask for a refill. To make matters worse, we had to follow up on the wine my husband ordered, as it still hadn’t arrived halfway through our entrée. While the food was good, it wasn’t special enough to justify the subpar service. The beautiful interior and Justin’s efforts were the redeeming qualities of the night, but overall, it was disappointing to see the rest of the team letting down what could have been a memorable anniversary dinner. With some improvements in service and attention to detail, this could be a great experience, but as it stands, it fell short. *** To add to the bad experience, the restaurant reached out after my review and it’s all talk no action. Needless to say no voucher was ever sent, as expected.
