Unfortunately, my stay did not quite meet the standard I would expect from a four-star Novotel. The biggest concern was the elevator situation. With two elevators out of service and only one available, waiting times were extremely long, particularly during the busy morning period. At one point, there was also an issue with the remaining elevator, and I had to take the stairs from the 3rd floor to the 11th floor. I understand that maintenance and upgrades are necessary, but the work could have been better planned by servicing one elevator at a time rather than leaving guests with only one operating elevator. Cleanliness was another area that needed attention. There was an unpleasant smell from the ground floor through to the reception level, while the hallway and carpets on the 11th floor had a noticeable musty odour. A thorough deep clean would make a significant difference. The in-room TV was also frustrating, as it frequently froze or stopped working properly and required repeated resets. The bed was fairly average, and a better selection of pillows with different levels of firmness would improve the overall comfort. On the positive side, the breakfast was great, with a good selection and an enjoyable overall experience. Jessica was also wonderful — friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. Her excellent customer service was definitely a highlight of my stay. The hotel is in a fantastic and convenient location, but improvements to the elevators, cleanliness, room facilities and general maintenance would make a significant difference and bring the experience closer to the four-star standard expected from Novotel.

Wow incredible stay as a platinum explorer plus member at this ideally located Accor establishment in Melbourne on the famous Collins Street. Everything was great from the facilities to rooms to dining and breakfast especially as we were celebrating a special occasion. Let me address the lift situation that so many have commented on. The management are moving mountains to get the new lifts in and operational as quickly as is humanly possible. I stayed Sunday and Monday and had absolutely no delays at all either downstairs or from reception to the rooms. I do believe there are some small delays during peak periods but I never experienced it and I was in and out of the hotel a lot. Accor loyalty members benefits fully applied with a fantastic breakfast spread and great cocktails and dinner options. Great gym and pool area spa under maintenance but no big deal. Represents great value at the right price with a huge “watch this space” with some serious upgrades coming from what I hear of the grapevine. Great location with access to free cbd trams which will take you all over the city. No review would be complete without a famous mrmakemystay shout out to the amazing front and back office champions including Cristelle(FOM), Ema, Merina, Jessica, Udara, Lee and concierge angels including Joseph, Sal, Elizabeth, Laura, Julian, Daniel and in F&B Makoto and Mr Steven, chef Buddhisha and manager Perera. All the staff were incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming. Novotel on Collins has absolutely made my stay! High recommendation from me a seasoned traveller. Ps Dining was excellent, especially if you are an Accor plus explorer member with dining benefits accepted. We had cocktails, entrees and mains everything was cooked beautifully and tasted great.

Similar to other reviewers, we found the location of this place to be great and (again like others) we found both the room service and breakfast food extremely good. The room size was ample but it was a little disappointing to find an empty drink bottle (probably from previous tenants) on the window sill, so I’m guessing housekeeping and attention to detail could be improved. Reception staff were friendly and we had prompt help when the TV stopped working due to a software problem that needed a full reboot rather than just turning on and off from the remote. Given we have seen this alluded to in other reviews, it might be worth having instructions offered in room? Overall a good stay, with some room for improvement (including looking forward to a time those lifts are finally functional!).

We recently enjoyed a brief visit at Novotel Melbourne on Collins, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! The service was fantastic, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable. The location is absolutely ideal for exploring the city, it's right in the heart of everything with easy access to all the shops, restaurants, and attractions you could want. We'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay in Melbourne!

Excellent location, but I would e very careful with room selection here.. I was allocated a twin bed room and when I requested for a change i got a room on 12th floor with no windows. Came back down and asked for a better room, was finally moved to a room on 9th floor with a street view next to my colleague who has booked along withme.i was wondering why did the reception not give me that room in the firstplace. The breakfast, however, made up for a bit of that discomfort. Very good spread all three days.
