Village the worst of the franchise theatres? Having frequented Hoyts and Reading a lot recently since my last visit to Village it was such a disappointment. The seats were old, no reclining whatsoever, barely any padding almost like sitting in a plastic chair, and some had rips in them. The sound was either mixed poorly or the speakers of Cinema 5 can’t handle the audio as it was muffled in bass moments and whiny in pitchy moments. The choc top was powdery and had a bizarre texture I’ve never experienced before. Back to Reading to spend much less on a ticket for a supreme comfort seat!

I’ve gone to Normal, Gold class and the Max one with the big screen and they’re all amazing! I have so many memories with families and friends and even had one of my best days of my life! The staff is also nice and kind and they even have a small, tiny arcade downstairs!

Gold Class here is great. The lounge is a lovely place to relax with a glass of wine before you go to your seats. Staff are very friendly and happy to help and bring your orders to your seat. We went to a good class session last night. Firstly I tried booking online and and the message was that our voucher wasn’t valid. Then I tried the phone and couldn’t speak to a person and had to attend the actual theatre. So off we went the day before and were able to purchase out tickets but were told that we had to speak to the gold class attendants when we attended to see if we could receive the rest of our voucher - food and drinks. We attended the theatre and that seemed to be honoured even though we weren’t sure until we received our food. We also ordered 2 extra drinks and were charged for 4. We won’t be back sorry Village. You should have customer service available. It wasn’t an enjoyable experience. Update. I returned the next day and got a refund for the overcharged drinks. I was annoyed that it had taken 3 return trips to go to 1 session and was told to pull my head in effectively. I know that these problems are not the fault of the front people. Managers of the system take note. It seems we aren’t the only ones who have had this experience….

If I could put a lower rating I would. The customer service at Doncaster gold class is horrendous infact it’s non existent. There was no one at the door. We had to go and ask for a drink order, they didn’t have ingredients for some of the cocktails. Our drink was placed on our table without a murmer, no here you are, thank you, not a word. At 7pm we were told the cinema was ready and had to make our way up solo. There once was a time where you were greeted at the door taken to a seat and had fabulous service then you were taken to your cinema seat. For $49 now you get nothing, the food, drinks is overpriced and underwhelming and the customer service is shocking! Do yourself a favour and go to Hoyt’s get a reclining seat at a fraction of the price. We will never waste our money on this again
