Reviews for Village Cinemas Jam Factory

Closing weekend 30th year movie celebration was fun. We saw Batman Forever and my kids loved it.

This cinema is great. The parking is good and it is very accessible to all. There are escalators and elevators going up to the cinema. There are big wide open spaces down below in a small mall type courtyard area where you can get a bite to eat before or after you go to the cinema or even if you don’t. The Gold Class service here was great and the cinema was very clean and comfortable. In our experience it was on par with Chadstone or the Melbourne Central Cinema’s. Just on a smaller scale. Which can be perfect if you don’t want all the fuss of going to a bigger place.

It was old and run down the last time I was there, but it gets an extra star for having the classic charm and personality. VPremium is not worth it at all, tables were sticky and so were the chairs and its just a boring waste of space that is no different to the Standard screenings, its just a "diet" Gold Class. The Standard cinema I was in had better seats but the only problem was that the projector was loud and clunky. In terms of being a functioning cinema, Jam Factory was the worse Village Cinema near Melbourne, but it's better than the overpriced Hoyts Melbourne Central because Jam Factory had personality and charm. Now it's gone for some renovations alongside the entire Jam Factory shopping centre.

This Cinema is badly decaying and neglected. The escalators have stopped working, the steep stairs or if you can find them the lift to take you up. The Gold Class Experience was quite dated with the food options not really appetising and expensive. You do best to sit in your own comfy lounge at home & have your favourite food hot, than to have food brought to you at the wrong time and having to send back in the dark because it's cold. No Experience at all. Expensive Excercise.

Went to see Wicked today. They only had coke available, or Sprite in a bottle. Additionally, cinema 5, row F seat 10 didn’t have a cup holder on either side. As you can expect, a pretty full cinema so I couldn’t move to a seat with a cup holder.
