Our first time here and it was on our wedding anniversary. We pre chose the Chefs Menu @ $75 p/h drinks additional. 4 courses, including dessert, and we were not once disappointed. The service was great, staff polite, attentive, and friendly. Our dishes were quick, and each and every one of them were insanely delicious. Inside was ambient, nicely lit, and comfortable. We were so full even before dessert was served. They staff had Happy Anniversary written in chocolate across our dessert plate, which was a nice touch. Happily recommend, and we would definitely return. Thanks to Ototo for a wonderful evening.

My partner and I celebrated Valentine’s Day at Ototo and decided to indulge in the Chef’s Menu priced at $75 per person. We were blown away by the culinary journey offered. The Wagyu tataki and chicken karaage were absolutely delightful, leaving a lasting impression on our taste buds. The restaurant’s ambiance is captivating, with its dark, moody setting complemented by striking red ceiling accents. The staff were attentive and friendly, contributing to the overall enjoyable experience. However, there were a couple of minor setbacks. The pork dumpling had an overwhelming pork flavor and tasted slightly off, which was disappointing. Additionally, there was a small mishap when our waiter accidentally spilled sparkling wine while pouring, and unfortunately, they didn’t return to clean the table. One area for improvement would be to ensure fresh plates are provided between courses, particularly when transitioning from entrees to mains as your plate is covered in soy sauce. As my partner asked for a fresh plate it was brought to him, however mine was kept and I didn’t bother asking. Despite these minor issues, our Valentine’s dinner at Ototo was unforgettable, and we would certainly consider returning for another special occasion.

Some mixed reviews, but overall a good experience for me and my nephew (no zip 😆) I do like a hidden bar and for me a good location too. First impression when you walk in, is that it's quite cool, but it's a little fatigued and not high end at all. Did the Chef tasting menu $55 pp, and my nephew and I enjoyed it all. Probs a little overpriced for what you get but, good serves and some lovely tastes. Service was, lets say, perfunctory, I might be a bit harsh, just love when you get a service that is more than a process. Overall, we enjoyed it (even if zip not invited)

Dinner for date night. The thing that is most noticeable about this place is the decor. It's kind of Japan Asian fusion and we opted for the tasting menu, which was just a selection of items from the actual menu. Execution was good but the dishes were a little boring and honestly trying to eat duck from the bone using chopsticks....strange to find two duck dishes on the chefs tasting menu. For the price I expected more.

double pork, double flavour spicy ramen! manageable spice level and the broth was delicious. the noodles were perfect consistency as it wasn’t too soft but wasn’t like rock hard. $20, 9/10 😋 kingfish sashimi on himalayan salt rock! not bad. the sashimi could be a bit more colder idk it was in between cold and room temperature. the salt rock does flavour the fish really fast tho so if your taking pics, do it fast and eat the sashimi. $22, 8.6/10 🤗 chicken karaage + black garlic aioli! fav karaage bc the chicken was juicy and extremely crispy on the outside. the seasoning too was perfect for the chicken. $9, 9.8/10 😊 pork and prawn gyoza! little bit dry but it was crispy ig? the soy sauce was really nice tho because it wasn’t all salty and had a bit of sweetness to it. $10, 8.3/10 😌 love the atmosphere inside this restaurant, will defs be coming back and i need to try the dinner menu one day!
