The Royal Botanic Gardens were one of my favorite spots in Melbourne. Such a beautiful oasis of greenery amidst the city – just perfect. The gardens are impeccably maintained and beautifully landscaped. It's the ideal place to get lost among the foliage, have a picnic, take a leisurely stroll – you name it. The gardens are vast, and you could easily spend the whole day there. A must-visit if you're in Melbourne.

Magnificent gardens to visit! Easy to get to from Melbourne CBD. Views are stunning with Melbourne City as a backdrop. Easy access for those with mobility issues as you can buy tickets to use the ride on tour of the gardens. Whenever I go to Melbourne, I make sure I fit another visit into my itinerary. Lovely meals available at The Terrace Cafe by the lake.

Amazing botanic garden with wide variety of plants! Great for jogging, walking, picnicking, and simply doing nothing Sitting next to shrine of remembrance, it’s easy to get to from city center of Melbourne. The botanic garden also connects to two other gardens and the river bank of Yarra River. It’s a strip of green space in an urban area. I visited during December, but still surprised at how many flowers blooming at that time. You can also find bunch of birds. I spent two hours there and each corner was different from others. If you really want to check all different sections, it might take you 3 hours. The staff there is also nice and helpful. They actively offered help when I was checking map. Really feel good about them! The visitor center also has clean toilets. You can also get beautiful map there.
