Reviews for The Auburn Hotel

Great atmosphere, especially for kids—the onsite playground is a fantastic feature! The food was decent, not amazing but still enjoyable. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Saturday night, so it’s understandable. Would definitely visit again!

We've been going to this historic establishment for years ... the old Geebung ... We love the building, the extension and vibes from this old and modern venue, sadly the food does not complement the historical building and the modern extension, nearly tried all on the menu, the only one we were impressed with is their beef cheek (special menu), the rest of the menu, including desserts, are not well cook, bland and just boring ... these days we are there for thier steak night and drinks. One great thing about this venue is the service, Iko and the team in the dining area works hard (especially when short staff), always full of smiles and gave us their best, and making sure things are good, thank you.

Visited Auburn Hotel for steak night with a group of four. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. It seemed like they were short on staff, as service was noticeably slow. We had to ask a couple of times to get our drinks frist, and the wait for food was excessive. To top it off, they mistakenly gave our order to the next table, which added another 10 minutes to our wait. While mistakes happen, we appreciated the complimentary dessert they offered to make up for it, and the waitresses were amazing—super friendly and attentive. However, the steak was disappointing. The taste and cook were 1/5. You could distinctly taste the burnt flavor, likely from gas instead of charcoal, and there were no sauce options offered. Sadly, this took away from what should have been a good steak night. Thank you 🙏

We came by on a Sunday for the petting zoo and what a great experience with the kids. We haven’t been back for a few years and was surprise to see the revamp of the property with an outdoor playground added and the Pavilion building. Food was a little pricy though with mains generally over $30. But the staff were great and service was very quick. Booking is 100% recommended and we will be back again.

The Auburn is another great example of effort being put into an historic building and turning it into a charming pub. The staff were great and very easy to talk to, making great suggestions on food and drink choices. The food is of decent quality, but we had an issue with some rare steak being well done and a few other mix ups. I do recommend visiting though.
