Popular local pub right at the corner of Clarendon st and Coventry street with ample seating inside and outside. The food is your average pub food nothing really stands out. The best dish we had most probably was the salt and pepper squid but would not recommend the eggplant chips. It was soggy and lacking any crunch. The service is friendly and helpful. Food - 5 Service - 7 Vibe - 7 Price - $$$

I popped up here for their lunch deal, fish and chips was great, generous portions and quite nice! Staff here s great too and I liked the atmosphere, they have a welcoming outdoor area, pigeons are a lil annoying but they try to keep them away as they can. Will be back to try more plates!

Excellent service and a great vibe. Heaps of street side seating so you can drink, chat, and watch the world go by. A friend had the spicy watermelon margarita (pictured). I had a sip, and it tasted great!

Great pub with ample space both indoors and outdoors. They offer a dedicated room with its own bar upstairs for events. There are plenty of screens available for watching live sports events. Their dishes are generous, delicious, and well-presented. I particularly enjoy their deconstructed Caesar salad. The chips are crispy and delightful. The staff is extremely friendly, and the service is prompt.

The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax with friends. The outdoor area is equally fantastic, ideal for enjoying a cold beer in the sun, and they’ve thoughtfully equipped it with powerful heating columns for those cooler evenings. The menu offers a great variety of classic pub fare, with plenty of delicious vegan options as well. I highly recommend the eggplant chips, the plant-based burger or the eggplant parma—all are standout dishes! The prices are very reasonable, and the daily specials provide even more bang for your buck. One of the best features of the Golden Gate Hotel is the connection to 'The Pass' app, which lets you order from your table plus earn and redeem points. They also run some fantastic promotions that you won’t want to miss. And let's talk about the happy hour. As of writing it's from 4pm-6pm, seven days a week plus enhanced 4pm-7pm on Fridays. They offer $10 pints for all their beer taps! Plus, specials on wines and spirits. It’s the perfect way to kick back and enjoy the good times. Overall the Golden Gate Hotel is a must-visit if you’re in the area. Great atmosphere, tasty food, and unbeatable drink deals—what more could you ask for? Cheers! 🍻
