Great place to stay while visiting. Location is right in the city and close to multiple tram stops and Parliament train station. The room was clean and had a nice vibe, and the bathroom was great. Check-in was also very easy. You can also easily get here from the airport as the Skybus terminates at Southern Cross station which is only a 10 minute walk away.

Don’t waste your money. We went to stay here and booked a double twin room. (The one where you’re meant to get two double beds and looks decently spacious). We were placed in the wrong room. A tiny gross room with stains on the bed valance I can only describe as someone had a “very good time” before us. When we complained they said oh we will give you a great room upgrade… and gave us the room we had actually paid for. Not sure if this was an honest mistake because systems were down but it was not on. There was still a lot of dust and stains in the new room and the whole hotel is so dirty and there are stains and mould all throughout. If you have any kind of respiratory sensitivities absolutely do not stay here. This whole place needs to be recarpeted, new bedding and reupholstered in terms of curtains.

My stay with the family at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Thanks for the free upgrade to a newly renovated room, it was the cherry on top of an already delightful experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a perfect blend of comfort, style, and outstanding hospitality. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Perfect location. Very central. Lovely staff. Great bar happy hour. Brekky very generous. Comfortable bed. Hotel just a little bit tired looking. However we enjoyed our stay. Will come again.

Again on a trip on our Australian adventure and went down to Melbourne for 5 days, we chose the Victoria Hotel to stay at as it appeared to be in the centre of what we wanted to see and do. Sure enough an excellent position although you certainly loose one or two things when staying in the centre of a city, the view! the volume of people! The city is very busy with regards to poeple but not to traffic which sounds amazing. However, the hotel gave us everything else, good food, good drink and a room that provided us with an excellent bed and a good shower, the room did not have enough clothes storage room so and extended stay would have been problematical. The staff were great and I would stay there again, so it's a good choice if you want to visit Melbourne.
