We’ve stayed here many times but sadly it has gone downhill quickly. The decor is dated, the chairs are showing their age and it just isn’t run well. The customer service is truely lacking compared to many other hotels I use throughout the year. They are happy to take the money, but when something isn’t right, they aren’t willing to address it. There are so many options around the area that offer much more for the same price point. I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but only do when it really warranted. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. Your stay in Melbourne will be a lot more pleasant.

We stayed 4 nights , it was an enjoyable stay. We had a premium room with a comfortable bed, good sized room and bathroom. Was a little noisey at night time from outside, but if you are a deep Sleeper you should be fine. Staff at reception were friendly, we did not use the restaurant facilities, but did opt out of daily housekeeping and received a F&B credit which we used for room service. Great location, with tram on door step and train station across the road.

Friendly staff members. Especially the bartender. You can turn down room clean for $10 at the bar & restaurant which can be redeemed for a beer on tap. Room is small but comfortable. The street facing side can be noisy but it does quiet down late at night. Right outside southern cross station and trams are very frequent. Room soundproofing is very bad. Neighbor’s tap sounds like a jet in my room. AC unit feels weak. Can hear footsteps too. You better hope your neighbor is not active late night. Mine was alright.
The Real Learning Experience
Arrived after 9pm last week and the staff could have been more helpful or accommodating. The young gentleman who checked me in was so lovely!!! He even found me a wine glass as the bar was closed which I was super appreciative of... very helpful with somewhere I could get some food.... I had booked in here as it was close to the train station and was pleasantly surprised by the room which was nicely renovated... everything I needed for a good nights sleep before an early morning start. Location was 10/10 for what I needed it for. Can recommend Code Black Coffee just down Spencer St towards station for amazing coffee too. Will def stay here again.

upon arrival we came in a little early staff of the Cafe helped us to the reception desk. Reception staff was amazing helped us out by allowing us to check in early via signing up to something I wish I remembered her name as she was amazing :) during the Night we needed to check something before we went to sleep the lady working was super helpful and wished us a good night. Staff that were on during check out was amazing too we were able to leave our bags in storage while we were exploring Melbourne a little more thank you for the amazing Experience
