A beautiful country hotel. The interior designers have a flair for appearance, but little understanding of the need for comfort. Too many seats were too deep with no back support. The pool was not heated. Dinner was excellent, if a little expensive - 2 courses for $85. The staff were cheerful and helpful. Despite the negatives it is still a lovely place to stay.

Booked in for 1 night at Lancemore Milawa. Had such a wonderful experience. The staff were so accommodating and more than happy to show us around. The bar manager Lydia had great knowledge of the wines being offered and she was wonderful to speak to. Over all, great experience and can’t wait to go back.

We stayed for our wedding at brown brothers. Solid breakfasts and the coffee was great. The rooms were fantastic and the team were very helpful even without minute requests so thank you so much from Alex and Monica.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Lancemore. We stayed here during a wedding for our friends, and must say we were really impressed by the lovely service from the staff, the incredible food served for dinner and the Lancemore itself is a really lovely place to spend time drinking a wine, having a swim or to watch the birds. Rooms are on the expensive side but are really spacious (plenty of room for a porta cot), and balcony's have a lovely view.

We booked for two nights for the King’s Birthday long weekend. Although the guest room was very spacious and clean, there was no sound proofing and we could hear conversations (and other things) clearly from the rooms either side of us and above us. It made it hard to sleep hearing others as well as water running through pipes in the roof. We booked the restaurant for Saturday night and unfortunately the food was very poor. Both entrees were served to us cold (prawns and scallops) and the prawns were not tasty. In addition, the main fish had an extremely salty broth and so only the fillet of fish could be eaten, which was the only item of the meal that was served as hot as expected. The other main of steak was okay but very lacking in flavour. We overheard multiple other diners expressing similar complaints. For $85 per head and even with a couple of items removed from our bill, we still got stuck with a bill over $150 for an overall unpleasant and mostly cold meal. The male waiter who served us then spoke poorly of two local wineries when asking about our plans for the weekend. It is a very poor look for a staff member to put down local businesses in this economy and encourage guests not to visit them. We left our dinner feeling extremely disappointed in both the food and that waiter’s comments. The breakfast service both mornings was excellent and the food delicious, so we are unsure if perhaps there was a different chef at dinner to explain the extreme difference in quality. We really want to be able to recommend the Lancemore but with the food quality and lack of sound proofing we would hesitate to do so. Upon checkout we were not asked at all about our stay which was disappointing again to not have any further acknowledgment of the dinner issues we experienced.
