Terrific evening with fantastic authentic French cuisine and memorably the atmosphere was amazing. With humour and a great atmosphere this was easily the best French dining experience in Australasia. The venue is great and there is several spaces. We had shared starters with the octopus a highlight, then confit duck for the main and chocolate fondant for pudding.

We went to there to celebrate my boyfriend’s bday, we ordered escargot, octopus salad, beef bourguignon, crème brûlée, and chocolate cake. Everything was beautiful, the food, the environment, and mainly the service: the staff were amazing and they made our night great! We highly recommend the escargot, beef bourguignon, and crème brûlée. My boyfriend said his beef bourguignon in this restaurant was much better than the one he had in France! Thank you so much for this marvellous experience at your restaurant, French Brasserie! For sure we would get back there when we go to Melb again!

Truly a disappointment on many fronts. For a restaurant of this style at this price point, based on many similar experiences, I would expect that the dishes are well presented and balanced, the portion sizes are reasonable and the service is at least satisfactory. The service was lacking in quality, a claim I make based on many criteria. Most notably, we were left waiting for almost 2 HOURS to receive our mains. By this point, we were both starving again despite having had entrees. Our waters were often left unfilled and we were left to share glasses until we had both run out of water. The wait staff seemed to be quite busily moving around and it took a shocking amount of time to get anyone's attention to refill our glasses. For such a small space, it really speaks to the quality of the restaurant experience. Many dishes were missing components that were listed in its menu description, for example a steak tartare with crusty bread came without the bread, among other similar blunders with other dishes. While most of the food tasted okay, it was nothing to write home about and nothing stood out to me in the taste or presentation. The portion sizes were also on the smaller side and after having waited 2 hours to eat, were completely unsatisfying. I would expect to not need to go out and get more food after spending $150pp and 2.5 hours at a dinner. If the food was spectacular, I would chalk up the bad experience to bad luck but since nothing impressed me about this restaurant, overall, I would add this place to the "Never again" list and recommend AGAINST anyone trying this out.

The food was lovely, and the service was excellent. The mussels were amazing, though they were on the specials menu and not a regular item. We had a good night thanks to the team.
