We held our wedding ceremony here on the Portico balcony and wow! It is beautiful and so regal in our photos. The bridal suite is massive & very comfortable. Amy C was a delight to deal with after Showtime Events took over the venue. It was so smooth on the day despite rain - they made small changes to where our signing table was and everything was great. A stunning venue.

I joined the free guided tour of the town hall on 12 June 2024. My guide was the exemplary Judy (who was also my tour guide at the state library last week). I loved it. Judy gave us an insider tip about the fabulous Art deco lifts in the Metropolitan building across the road (see them for yourself). I was a little confused about the entrance to the town hall for this tour; it's not the huge main doors but the one that says "Chamber & administration" (see photo).

Recently visited during the MICF 2024 for Paul Williams. We were in a little back stage room in a tiny hallway which is a bit interesting. It is always a beautiful and lively spot here.

Very worthwhile free tour, highly recommended. Ken our guide was full of knowledge of Melbourne's history. Lots of wonderful first nations art inside. Book the other free tour to see the gallery on the 4th floor.

Lovely old building that hosts lots of cultural and comedy events, especially during Melbourne's comedy festival. Ceiling in the main hall is spectacular, especially when lit up....but seating not super comfortable.
