The Australian Room is our main function room, accommodating up to 1,365 guests in a conference or theatre style set up, weddings or celebrations up to 620 guests with a sizeable dance floor or cocktail functions up to 1,000. A key feature of the room are the decorative, operatable walls which split the room into 3 equal rooms of 328m² enabling up to 72 different room configurations. The room features a ceiling height of 5 metres accentuating the sense of space.

the quality of the food it's good but small portions and no replacement after finish and the alcohol self service in the bar not service in the table no good in wedding factions.

Last Sunday we had the sad misfortune of attending the annual Christmas Party of my brother’s care organisation at this miserable, poorly run venue. Firstly, our bread rolls were stale in the extreme. Dry, cold offerings which would be more familiar in the 19th century prison system. The main course was lukewarm, and shocking. I have not seen such appalling food in many a long day. To add insult to injury, my plate was devoid of peas and the confused waiters had a tussle over the other plate that the first waiter was holding, upon which were peas. It brought to mind the Peter Sellar’s movie, “The Party”. One carer on our table was of the Muslim faith and her halal meal arrived some 45 minutes AFTER we had been served. The plum pudding and paltry teaspoon of custard with disgusting. And cold. We felt so badly for the carers and their residents who look forward to this event each year. My husband commented that he would hate to think that such sub standard fare was served (and service was incredibly poor and unprofessional) up because the customers were disabled. Shame shame shame. I trust that serious kitchen and wait staff re-training be instigated forthwith. I certainly hope that next year’s Christmas Party is back at Dorset Gardens Hotel.

Please avoid if you’re trying to book any sort of function or wedding here. I’ve been trying to email Lara Seri who is a wedding executive here since late 2023, and I’ve gotten absolutely no where. She has never responded after many emails and phone calls.. It took us over a month to even book a viewing. After we had told her we were interested in December 2023 we are yet to even receive any sort of costings proposal to book the date. If Lara is this slow on even taking our deposit to secure the date, imagine the poor wedding coordination we would receive on our wedding day. Definitely avoid at all costs.
