The hotel itself is lovely and the amenities are also great. However, the service particularly with the restaurant and room based services are rather poor. We stayed a total of 5-nights and we had two room service orders which never arrived and on both occasions, we got shifted around different departments of the hotel. On one occasion, the room wasn’t cleaned and we had to ask at the desk later in the day and then leave to have it cleaned. I’m sure with time the hotel and restaurant etc will work cohesively but at the moment it’s definitely not a five star experience or even close

I booked a night in Deluxe King Room with City View 40 meters at the Central Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne as a surprise for my husband to celebrate our anniversary. I wanted us to have a luxurious 5-star experience with our daughter, enjoy a relaxing evening, and explore the city near Christmas time. Unfortunately, our stay was far from what we had hoped for, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Room Design Flaws : The entrance door had minimal clearance, making it difficult to open fully. My daughter, tripped several times near the door due to its awkward positioning. Uncomfortable Furniture : The room featured a fixed sofa near the window that was poorly designed. The mattress on the sofa slid off constantly, and the gap between the sofa and the window created a hazardous space with sharp corners. My daughter accidentally hit her head on one of these corners, which led to tears and even some bleeding on her foot. When we requested a bandage, it took a long time to arrive. I also injured my elbow against the same sharp edges. For older guests or anyone with mobility issues, this could be even more dangerous. Poor Cleanliness and Amenities - The provided bathrobes were old, rough, and visibly stained. - The minibar was completely empty except for a few coffee pods, sugar packets, and three teabags—not what one expects from a 5-star hotel. - There were no child-friendly amenities provided. The bed for my daughter was old and uncomfortable, and it came with no blanket or proper bedding. Additionally, there were no toiletries like child shampoo, lotion, toothpaste, or anything thoughtful for kids. - **Breakfast Disappointment**: The breakfast was incredibly basic. The only pastry offered was a small croissant, and there were no fresh berries like strawberries or blueberries, even though they are in season. There were no special touches like ice cream or a diverse selection of desserts. For a 5-star hotel, this felt very underwhelming. - **General Lack of Comfort**: My daughter ended up sleeping with us because her bed was so uncomfortable, and the lack of proper bedding made it worse. My husband was visibly unhappy, and our anniversary surprise turned into a disappointing and frustrating experience. I genuinely regret booking this hotel. For the price we paid and the 5-star rating, we expected much higher standards of comfort, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Sadly, our own home offers better amenities than what we experienced here.

Stayed here in November. Absolutely loved it. Clean, modern hotel that has a luxury feel. I had a nice view from my room which again had all the mod cons such as a tv I could hook up to my Spotify or Netflix. The pool is gorgeous, the only one on my three week trip that allowed me to have a proper 1000m swim. The gym was also really well equipped. The staff were lovely, and let me check in early which was ideal as I was wet through from the rain. I also had a drink in the bar on the top floor which gives stunning views across the city. Would 100% recommend staying here. For the price I didn’t expect anywhere nearly as lovely as this hotel.

Hyatt Centric Melbourne is vibrant and eclectic with a prime location. Situated in the heart of Melbourne, it offers easy access to the city’s bustling streets, landmarks, and dining hotspots. The free public transit is right across the street. The rooftop bar is great with views and a chic ambiance. After exploring, we needed a cocktail. Breakfast is equally exceptional. Check-in was seamless with friendly staff. The rooms are generously sized, thoughtfully designed, and provide a comfortable stay.

to put it simply the experience was unsatisfactory. our main problem was with the service provided. housekeeping came the first day and even after requesting to the reception multiple times and being told they would, they never came. In addition to this the phone was not working and the wi-fi was a bit problematic. to put it simply Overall the experience was unsatisfactory. not something you would expect when booking a five star hotel. Little flaws that are manageable. But breakfast was average and rooms were of nice size for the price you pay.
