Would be 1 star all around but the room was clean and nice and the location was very good. Staff woman was incredibly rude at check-in. She didn't have my booking and was very dismissive of me and implied I wasn't booked. Eventually she found my booking and then continued to be rude instead of apologizing. (Laughing with coworker during my check-in, acting like it was my screw up every time she couldn't find something or failed to do something) Also I booked this hotel for 11am checkout, 11am checkout is worthless if at 8:00AM on the dot housekeeping is banging on your door loudly. I gave up on going back to sleep and checked out at 8:10. Never again rendezvous hotel. Also spoke to people who were frustrated either their keys didn't work for the hotel and elevator, and one man who said the safe in his room had malfunctioned and had his belongings stuck. Service is everything in this industry, hopefully you will get more competent staff. The gentleman working the door was extremely helpful though. Also the young bellhop was very polite. Check in lady? Not so much.

I was at the Hotel for a Conference this week. Melodie and her staff were wonderful looking after us, taking our photos on request. The bap bread sandwiches, wraps, mini quiches were yum. Best for last were the piping hot fresh from the oven Portuguese tarts! Thank you for a wonderful experience, well done

Lovely hotel full of charm. Friendly staff and very nice buffet breakfast. Great location, so close to everything. Rooms are small but not a problem as the hotel has very nice seating areas downstairs and a nice bar. Will definitely be returning. Thanks Rendezvous Hotel.

Probably one of nicest authentic hotels I've stayed at. Beautiful interior from architecture of 100 years gone by. Clean, quiet and well appointed rooms. Very nice staff. Breakfast was great as well. Very well priced. Do yourself a favour when next in Melbourne.

We have booked a room for 28 days, expecting a consistent and professional level of service in line with the standards that Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne claims to uphold. However, our experience so far has been entirely disappointing and frustrating. On April 9, our room was not cleaned at all. On April 10, although the room was “cleaned,” the service was careless and unprofessional — the glasses were not washed, our shoes were left scattered around the floor, and the bed remained messy and half-made. I personally went to the front desk to raise my concerns and was assured that this would not happen again. However, April 15, both my roommate and I called separately to request housekeeping service, and once again, no one came to clean our room. This is completely unacceptable and shows a complete disregard for your guests’ comfort and expectations And today (April 20), the room was cleaned very carelessly, and even the bed wasn't made." We feel extremely disappointed and disrespected. As long-term guests, we deserve at the very least a consistent and basic standard of cleanliness and communication. We did not choose to stay here for almost a month to chase after basic services every day.
