I've always wanted to go into the Hawthorn Hotel, I've seen some negative reviews regarding food and service, but I wanted to try it for myself. I had a really pleasant time there, I had a lovely young lad bringing my drinks out to me, he was really lovely and always had a smile on his face! I didnt realise that cocktail hour stops at 9:30 (roughly around that time, cant remember exactly) I went upto the bar and they were even nice enough to make me some cocktails a few minutes past which was awesome! The food was good and it was overall a really nice meal and night! So I'm not quite sure about the negative reviews and why people have had such bad experiences? The place was clean, give it being busy for parma and trivia night. Overall a really good job, thanks Hawthorn Hotel 🥂

My favourite pub. Excellent atmosphere, great service and friendly staff. I can’t recall his name, but the guy who serves is just amazing. He provides excellent customer service and constantly checks in on me to make sure I am enjoying my time. I think part of the reason why I love this place so much is due to his impeccable customer service. I love eating at this spot, as the food is so delicious and the vibes are immaculate. My favourite dish is the roast beef paired with jus served with slaw and corn. Unbelievably filling and delicious. Again, I absolutely love the Hawthorn Hotel and it is my absolute favourite pub.

Great value for money, especially the Sunday roast with lots of roasted vegetables on the side. The sides are advertised as bottomless but we were given so many vegetables on a separate plate that we couldn't even finish, so we never need to use that option.

I attended here on a Friday night to watch a gig and witnessed staff yelling at people at the start of the night to "move" out of their way (no one was being disruptive, they could have simply been polite). I also saw staff yelling at each other. A friend of mine ordered a drink but the waiter came with the wrong drink, she asked if she could get the correct flavour. He proceeded to tell her she was wrong until eventually returning with the correct drink and slamming it down on the table. I had another friend eating elsewhere in the venue and he was spoken to very poorly by one of the waitresses. She also slammed things down on his table too. When we all caught up at the end of the night the main talking point was how rude all the staff were. Particularly the young blond waitress with glasses and the bartender with the watermelon shirt. It wasn't even a busy or rowdy Friday night yet they were walking around being aggressive to everyone, huffing and puffing, slamming things, yelling at each other.... it was ridiculous and created a very uncomfortable environment for patrons. The blond girl with glasses needs a reality check, an attitude check, and a new job.

Large group of us on a Sunday night (booking at 6pm). Not many others at the venue. Service extremely slow, most people had to wait over an hour for food (even just hot chips). The last couple of mains to come out which was the roast (advertised with limitless roast vegetables), didn't even have roast potatoes (looked like they ran out and were replaced with steamed cauliflower), barely any gravy and Yorkshire pudding was crunchy. Venue looks great, but that's about it. Pricey for what you get. Disappointing.
