Went to the Sands Torquay as a small birthday getaway for my partner. Rooms were well maintained and clean. The location is a very short walk to the beach. Customer service was phenomenal. A special shout out to Tracey that was working behind the desk that served us when we arrived. We would like to thank Tracey for her amazing customer service and for making the stay even more special for us. Customer service like this is very rare to come by, so we thank you immensely. Would definitely consider coming back here.

Beautiful stay at the Sands Torquay. Short walking distance to the beach and a short drive near restaurants and cafes. The room was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean. The indoor pool was great fun and the hotel team was friendly, patient and helpful. I would come back again.

This is the BEST customer service experience I've had in my life. Stayed here for 5 nights for my boyfriend's birthday and the staff were so warm, kind and generous in helping to celebrate his birthday. On top of the incredible hospitality, they went above and beyond for me after I left a valuable item behind, they mailed it back to me as I live 2 hours away. Received it the next day! The reviews all talk about how friendly and nice the staff are here and I promise you, they are not wrong. Beautiful views and bedrooms. Great location, walking distance to the beach and short drive to lots of popular and delicious food spots. Really up to date gym equipment. My boyfriend played the golf course and said he enjoyed it and it was well maintained. 100 percent recommend this resort!

Attended the Torquay business awards at the Sands on Monday evening. Was so impressed. Food was fabulous- banquet style on each table, so much variety and everything was delicious. There was more than enough food for all including a hungry big 19 year old on our table. Staff were attentive and friendly. Beautiful space. Look forward to going back for meals with friends and family.

My family and I had a meal tonight at Shirley’s Restaurant at The Sands and we were very disappointed. The pricing of the food would have you think that you were going to get some great quality dining, however the fare is overpriced and sub-par. All the meals were not up to standard, however it was the ‘Crispy Chat Potato’ side that really was a massive fail. If a restaurant can’t cook a simple potato dish, you know you’re in trouble. After sending them back because they were undercooked and not crispy, the staff asked what we would like the chef to do…. With that I knew we would not be satisfied with the outcome. They brought them back and they were still undercooked. What made it all so much worse was that the staff didn’t come back to check if everything was ok. It was clear they didn’t care. Would not recommend. Save your money and go anywhere else.
