As usual, all aspects of the stay were wonderful. We even wandered into the Cricketer’s Bar for a refreshment! The Staff were all friendly and efficient. They made themselves available to answer all of our Melbourne questions. We loved this hotel and we will be back. Thank you Hotel Windsor.

My husband and I spent our second wedding anniversary in Melbourne. I thought it would be lovely to spend our final evening and morning at The Hotel Windsor. It was a great decision. The hotel is stunning. The concierge and staff were very kind and helpful- holding our bags all day while we went to Phillip Island and placing them in our room before arrival. We checked in at 11pm and were given an extra hour to check out which was much appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic as well as High Tea. I had an error with my booking for the tea room and the hotel worked with me and my third party so that we wouldn’t miss out on the plans that we had made in December- 5 months prior. I felt very appreciative for all the kindness and courtesy. We were able to truly relax and enjoy our final day in luxury. The dining room staff and supervisor couldn’t have been more hospitable. Thank you for that. ❤️

My wife and I stayed at The Hotel Windsor for two nights as part of her birthday celebrations. As soon as we walked into the hotel we felt welcome and blown away by the amazing history and the amazing interior of the hotel. We checked in and went our room, which we loved. I often read reviews contradictory reviews about old hotels, saying how wonderful it is to be in a heritage building then following up by saying it is a bit dated! We could see the room and fixtures were old but for us it was part of the charm. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was excellent. The hotel is very traditional with things like how maids dress, the way food is served and the beautiful surrounding relaxing music, which is played in the background. There were only a few negatives but I will mention them because I want the hotel to be enjoyed by everyone and if I don't mention the negatives then the hotel won't be aware. The breakfast on the first day was everything and more that we expected from a heritage hotel. The service was like music being swift, orchestrated, respectful and relaxing. The second day we had breakfast was a little disappointing though because it was so different from the first day. We were seated in a tiny table in the corner by the window, which is fine in itself but we were forgotten about and struggled to get the attention of the waitresses. Our breakfast order was wrong for both of us, juice was not offered, which it was on our first day, so we had to get their attention to ask. I had to ask for a clean knife and fork because they took mine away after I used them to eat my pastry. Then because we were out of site we could not get the attention of anyone to finish with a coffee, where they proactively came to our table to offer coffee on the first morning. In the end we left the breakfast room, a little disappointed. The only other issue was that we had a bathroom panel fool onto my shin when I was using the sink. It did bruise my leg quite badly but was swiftly repaired when I report the issue to reception. I did not make a big deal of the negative issues that we had during our stay because I wanted it to be nice and relaxing for my wife. I still rated the hotel with 5 stars because the overall experience was worth that score. I hope to return again some day.

We just spent five nights at the Windsor in Melbourne and loved the old world charm of the place. It was my wife’s birthday and we were surprised to find sparkling wine and a birthday card in our room when we arrived. I loved the architecture, decor and history of the place. The dinning room for breakfast each morning was special with silver service and a great selection from the menu. We did the high tea and it was something very special to help celebrate my wife’s birthday week. The staff at the restaurant were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The location is perfect with all the restaurants in the area as well as the theatre. We travel to Melbourne every year for the Anzac Day football and it was so easy being able to walk the short distance to the MCG. The only thing that I could say if I had any criticism is I don’t like the shower over the bath and the bathroom in our room is in need of a make over with the basin cracked and toilet seat loose. I guess it’s got to be expected being that it’s a heritage list building but some things could do with a bit of a tidy up to keep it in pristine condition. I would definitely consider staying at the Windsor when we visit Melbourne in the future.
