Pirate Life South Melbourne is an absolute must-visit! The service is exceptional, with incredibly friendly staff who make you feel right at home. And the food? Simply divine. The tender, succulent steak was perfect, and the amazing sides were equally delicious. Seriously, if you're looking for fantastic food, drinks and outstanding hospitality, you need to check this place out. Highly recommended!

Visited on a Sunday, arrived about 4.45, i wasn't eating but some of our party were, so we were told immediately that the kitchen closed at 5pm. The roast had all gone but they swapped out the roast meat with steak, it looked very tasty and apparently was. Good selection of beer, i had a stout which was good. I am not usually a fan of non independent breweries, but i liked Pirate Life. It was pretty quiet and it shut at 6pm

Really nice venue. Open, lots of seats, outdoor areas front and back. Great beer selection, friendly, welcoming and informative staff. It was quiet so the atmosphere I’m sure is much brighter when it’s busier. Didn’t eat, but the menu is unique and diverse and everything smells AMAZING.

Went when it first opened but it wasn't quite there but with the revised menu this place is a gem. $25 for wood fired porterhouse chips and gravy. Might have to say best steak in the area for the money.

I’ve been here a few times during the week for express lunch and to just enjoy the atmosphere. I’ve wanted to try the Sunday roast and today, I brought the pups and had the beef roast. Great smoke through the beef! It was really good. The portion was ok however, I would’ve preferred another slice of beef and a couple more veggies. It was the right size for lunch. I’ll be trying the pork & chicken roasts when time permits. The rear beer garden is great! Nice setup and atmosphere with a big screen tv. Just a pity they had AFL on. Would’ve been better with the League but, can’t have everything.
