I was really looking forward to enjoy our new year eve on 31 night, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. I ordered a vodka with juice, but what I got was a watered-down version that tasted more like lime juice and soda water than vodka. We are 11 people all together and spend around $1000. Needless to say, I won’t be returning to Melbourne Public anytime soon. If you’re looking for a bar that serves authentic, full-flavored cocktails, I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere.

My partner & I hosted our wedding reception at the Citizen Space in Melbourne Public and it was beyond our expections! From the moment we stepped into the venue, the atmosphere was filled with joy, love, and excitement. The venue itself was perfect for the occasion – spacious and yet intimate, with just the right balance of sophistication and comfort. Bethany & the team were incredibly attentive, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. From meeting in January face-to-face to discuss our plans to seeing everything come together to answering our millions of questions in between, Bethany was a delight to work with! On the night itself, the service was top-notch! The main courses were flavorful and fresh (shoutout to the chefs for the amount of fried chicken), while the desserts were simply delicious. Overall, this wedding reception was a beautiful, joyous celebration. It was an evening filled with laughter, dancing, delicious food, and unforgettable memories.

Busy venue but attentive service, halloumi and burgers were delicious and drinks were great value. The owner was very welcoming. Would highly recommend, will be coming back next week! 👍

We went there on Sunday when they had the family day animal farm was on. Fun fill day for the whole family. Did not know they have family day every Sunday so it was lovely. There are plenty of space for pram and baby chair. The food size were huge! The kids burger is like adult burger size. The calamari and steak cooked to perfection. Full bar also for adults drinks.

Here I’m on my journey to find great burgers in Melbourne unexpectedly stumbling into this little gem. I used to walk past this pub 4-5 days a week when I used to live in Southbank and never even went inside. Not sure why though, may it’s the ramp, maybe it’s the entrance or maybe it’s jnr being a weirdo. Been to every other restaurant and pub in that lane except this one. And last week on a hot day, thirsty for a beer I walked in with my friend who suggested we grab burgers too, I thought why not. Why did I stay away from this place? It’s damn good burger possibly almost as good as (maybe only slightly less than) burger boys AKA Saving Grace. Buns excellent Meat patties juicy AF Lettuce crunchy Cheese melty And the fries are perfectly seasoned to munch on while sipping a cold one. The staff there are super friendly too and venue is quite clean and well maintained. Now I gotta come back again soon!
