We had booked well in advance and months later we were contacted and told that the hotel had made a mistake and the price had gone up, so we were charged extra. When we checked in, we got a downgraded room to what we paid for and when I challenged reception staff I was told that the photos at time of booking were just an example and they're not always the same. Our booking photos had a lounge and table and the room was spacious, our actual room had no lounge, no table and it was absolute tiny. I was told they didn't have any other rooms to change us to, but after lengthy conversations about false advertising, two rooms miraculously popped up. Very disappointing to know that they tried to rip us off, and then had the capacity to fix the issue and still didn't until I had to argue the point.

We stayed here 4 nights and the overall experience was great. Nice clean modern rooms. Rooms were spacious. Wish they had more drawers to put clothes for long stays. Nice clean bathrooms though I would prefer locks on bathroom doors especially when we are traveling with kids. It is next to fire station though it didn’t bother as much during our 4 night stay.

This hotel is modern, clean and concierge is very helpful. The room I had is a good size and very comfortable. The only problem with the room is there isn't much of a mini fridge, the one I had isn't cold enough and very little space to put anything I have bought back. Location wise it is in the quiet side of the city and need a good 5-10 min walk from the Southern Cross if taking the Skybus into Melbourne. However it is still close to the Flagstaff station to catch the city loop and short walk to the Flagstaff Gardens and Queen Victoria Market, great to grab lunch at the market and enjoy it in the park like I did. I had already booked for another stay later in the year and looking forward to going back.

Room bigger than my expectation, it’s clean and comfortable. Love this hotel with very friendly staff, great location which just takes 10 minutes walk to Queen Victoria Market, many car park spaces in front of the hotel (be aware of the free time and meter is required after 7am with very reasonable price). If the water pressure and the amenities could be improved, it will be perfect.

There's a lot to like about Courtyard. The rooms are huge in comparison to anything you'd get in the CBD. Location is a bit out of the way but worth it for the room size. There is no carpet which is awesome for my allergies but it also means that everything is extremely loud, hearing people roll their suitcases past my room it felt like they were in it. I could hear my neighbour walking around at 2am. Going to ask for a room away from the lifts next time. Amenities are bare bones, which is what this salary man brand is, and I dont mind as I prefer the cheaper price for how clean the rooms are. What no one has mentioned is this is literally next door to a fire station. I got woken up by the fire station alarms going off and a fire truck screaming down the road. So overall a mixed bag.
