If a balcony or pool is not essential, then go here. Great views, clean rooms. Night staff need rest so they aren't so grumpy. They did assume every customer knew how the key cards and system works, and operates everything. A real tap and go culture. By Monday, there was a huge change in the atmosphere, extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The cleaners are awesome and sensible, you can tell they have your comfort in mind. Ibis is also concerned for safety, and encourage anyone to report to staff any thing unusual or out of place. The gym has 3 treads, weights, no bench press, but a great workout to be had with a shower available. Well done Ibis staff, you've made a great improvement from when I first got here, and we noticed it. HOWEVER, WHEN THE FIRE ALARM GOES OFF, AND EVERYONE IS EVACUATED, THERE IS A DISTINCT LACK OF FIRE WARDRN OR CHECKING ON CUSTOMERS. ALSO, FIRE ALARM SPEAKER TESTS AT UNGODLY HOURA OF MORNING SETA OF PTSD

We had a lovely stay. Location really convenient for attractions like the zoo. Our room was clean and comfortable. We ordered room service for dinner, service was quick and our meals were great - very impressed with the kids burger, decent portion and proper fresh ground beef patty, not frozen mystery meat. Great for kids. Overall very satisfied!

The hotel bills itself as family friendly, yet: - the revolving door moved so fast, despite hitting the slow down button, that while leaving my toddler got his foot stuck underneath, causing both myself and a staff member to hold the door in order to get it out. The foot is swollen this morning, and I will be taking my son to urgent care to make sure no damage was done. - The fridge in the room does not work. I bought some snacks for my kids (yoghurt, milk, etc) and it was warm in the morning. When I went to the reception to inform them about the fridge not working and get the food refunded, I was told (very rudely) that they are aware of the issue. That, in fact, the fridge is not for use, and guest food is to be stored in the kitchen refrigerators. When I asked where I was supposed to be informed about the room fridge being decorative only, the man at the counter said that the hotel does not need to put any signage up, as the fridge in the room we rented is hotel property, and we should not assume that we can use it. He then told me he didn't want to talk about it anymore and to go away. Maybe 15 minutes later the man came to my room and told me that, even though I was still wrong, he was willing to offer me a $50 meal credit. While it was nice that I could get breakfast for myself and my children the next morning, he was incredibly condescending when giving me the voucher. - at least twice in the lobby a homeless couple that hung around outside the hotel came inside to have an argument, to which the staff did not react. This hotel is for fifo workers only, people who are there to sleep and leave in the morning. It is not a family friendly place, or for anyone who wants to stay longer than one night. I for one will not come back, as I have never felt more unwelcome and uncomfortable in a hotel.

I really enjoyed staying at the Ibis Sydney East. Great location! It's close to Hyde Park, Kings Cross, Sydney Central. The airport train takes you directly to Kings Cross train station (but you will need to transfer trains at Central station to go to Kings Cross station) which is then only a 5 min walk to the Ibis hotel. Friendly staff, clean air-conditioned rooms (serviced daily) and a hearty continental breakfast in the mornings. Rooms were a tad small, but very comfortable beds. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and will be back again.

I liked staying here. It was clean, functional and modern. The last minute price was $189 for a king bed. Plenty of coffee and tea provided. Great airconditiong and so I had a good night sleep. Restaurant on-site had some beautiful quality meals, although a little pricey. Would definitely stay here again.
