Reviews for La Sosta

Really decent pasta selections. The ragu and sauce was flavourful and not overly thick. The pistachio pesto was sweet and zesty. First time I had mini lasagna sheet pasta like this. Some of the sheets stuck together, so had to separate them to make sure they were all coated with the sauce. Other than that, the dishes were novel and well done! Will come back and definitely recommend La Sosta.

Enchanting ambience and the food to match. Plates were exquisite. The swordfish was one of the best I’ve ever had; singed just right and yet still juicy. Service was solid.

Wow! A Wonderful Return to La Sosta We hadn’t visited La Sosta in a while, and we were genuinely impressed by the excellent attention and service we received from the entire team while celebrating our father’s birthday. The restaurant’s lift made access incredibly easy, which was a real plus. La Sosta serves authentic modern Italian cuisine that was absolutely mouthwatering. A big thank you to Thomas and Jesus for their gracious hospitality and for allowing us to bring our own cake, which they presented beautifully. Every detail made for a truly memorable experience!

Such a shame!! This restaurant had so much potential, unfortunately we did not have an enjoyable experience. This review is more for the management / business side of the place, the waitstaff were friendly and professional and the food was delicious! About 45 minutes after ordering we were told there was a function happening outside which meant the kitchen was under the pump and our food would be delayed. We were understanding of this and still having a nice time so were happy to wait. However, our entrees came out 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering, and our mains over 2 hours later. It’s just such a shame because we were so hungry and over it that we didn’t get to properly enjoy the food. The staff did their best to be understanding but when you’re paying $40 per main and spending money on alcohol etc no amount of sympathetic smiles can make up for it. Looking around the restaurant was grim, everyone was unhappy and over it. We were offered a 10% discount which didn’t really make up for it in our opinion. Was supposed to be a special night for a family reunion and just majorly missed the mark. Management should not be accepting function bookings and regular restaurant bookings if the establishment is not able to perform at an appropriate standard for both. Not fair on the kitchen (who we could see were majorly under the pump) and the waitstaff (who were having to cop the unhappy customer complaints).

Lovely atmosphere, especially during a cool early spring evening. We sat out on their patio which was open during the day. At night they closed the plastic partition so we could still see out, but it captured the warmth from the heaters. Food was delicious! My favorite dish was the fried baccala (cod) appetizer 🤤 La Sosta offers the flexibility to order some dishes as an appetizer or main size (smaller vs larger), which allowed my hubby and I to split a few dishes.
